Overview

This document describes the electriQ AIRFLEX15-V2 Portable Air Conditioner with Heatpump, a versatile unit designed for both domestic and commercial use.

Function Description:

The electriQ AIRFLEX15-V2 is an intelligent air conditioning product offering cooling, heating, and dehumidifying functions, making it suitable for year-round use. It features a self-evaporative system, eliminating the need for an external water tank under normal use. The unit is designed for flexibility, with a unique optional comfort kit that allows it to be situated outside the room, ideal for server rooms, offices, military tents, or marquees, thereby reducing indoor noise. It also supports dual ducting for enhanced performance in both cooling and heating modes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: Airflex15 V2
  • Capacity:
    • Cooling: 4000 W
    • Heating: 3200 W
  • Rated Input (EN 60335):
    • Cooling: 1538 W
    • Heating: 1391 W
  • Running Current:
    • Cooling: 7.0 A
    • Heating: 6.3 A
  • Max Noise Level (Sound Pressure): ≤65 dB(A)
  • Air Flow: 450 m³/hr
  • Maximum Allowable Pressure: 3.2/1.0 Mpa
  • Permitted Excessive Operating Pressure: 2.6/1.0 MPa
  • Power Supply: 220-240V/50Hz
  • Refrigerant: R290/235g (R290 has a low GWP of 3)
  • Net Weight: 28 Kgs
  • Gross Weight: 32 Kgs
  • Dimensions (LDH): 321x580x767 mm
  • IP Rating: IP24 (designed mainly for indoor use but protected against light rain and splashing for outdoor use).
  • Room Area Requirement: Do not use or store in an unventilated space with an area smaller than 11.3m² per unit.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Digital control panel with IP24 splash-proof protection, bright LED screen displaying desired temperature, fault codes, diagnostic, and protective codes.
  • Operation Modes: Cooling, Heating, Dehumidifying, and Fan modes.
  • Fan Speeds: High, Medium, Low, and Auto. In dehumidifying mode, the fan is pre-set to low speed. In heating mode, the fan is pre-set to high speed.
  • Temperature Settings:
    • Cooling Mode: 17 – 30°C
    • Heating Mode: 15 – 25°C
  • Timer Function: 24-hour start/stop timer for both air conditioning and dehumidifying modes.
  • Remote Control: Supplied remote control for convenient operation.
  • Portability: Equipped with castors for easy movement.
  • Hose Installation: The exhaust hose can be easily clipped and rotated into adapters. For heat mode, the hose connector and front vent need to be refitted on the opposite sides.
  • Window Kit: Designed for sliding or sash windows and doors. The fishtail adaptor can be used without the slide bar on most windows and doors, but sealing the opening is crucial for efficiency. The best installation is through a wall duct.
  • Hose Length: The soft hose extends from 28 cm to 150 cm, and the unit supports hoses up to 300 cm. For best performance, it is recommended not to extend the hose by more than 40 cm.
  • Hot Air Outlet Position: Positioned high on the unit for improved performance with a short hose.
  • Comfort Kit (Optional): Allows the unit to be placed outside the room, with a wired remote control and remote extender for the original remote, reducing indoor noise.
  • Dual Ducting (Optional): Supports two hoses connected simultaneously for increased performance in both cooling and heating, ideal for environments like classrooms where the unit can be kept in a store room. Requires a twin duct adaptor and a second 150mm diameter pipe.
  • Water Drainage:
    • Self-Evaporative System: Under normal cooling use, water is reused to cool condenser coils, and excess is evaporated, reducing the need to empty the internal tank.
    • Manual Drainage: When the internal water tank is full (indicated by E4 error), the unit stops. Water can be drained by removing the water plug and attaching a drain pipe.
    • Continuous Drainage: A water pipe can be connected to the water outlet for continuous drainage, plumbed into a system, led outside, or used with a water pump. Recommended for heating and dehumidifying modes.
  • Protective Functions:
    • Anti-Freeze Protection Control: Stops compressor and water pump if copper coil temperature is too low in cooling mode (displays "Df").
    • Water-Full Protection: Displays "E4" when the internal water tank is full.
    • Compressor Protection: Overheat protection and a 3-minute delay protection function to prevent damage from repeated power loss.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Surface Cleaning: Clean the plastic housing with a duster or a soft wet cloth. Avoid chemical solvents.
    • Air Filter Cleaning: Clean the air filter every 2 weeks (or more frequently depending on air quality). Pull out the filter, wash it in warm water with a neutral detergent, rinse, dry thoroughly, and re-install.
  • End of Season Maintenance:
    1. Drain the internal tank.
    2. Run the unit in low fan cooling mode with the desired room temperature set above ambient for half a day to dry the internal conduit and prevent mold.
    3. Turn off and unplug the unit.
    4. Separate and safely store the vent pipe.
    5. Cover the unit and store it in a dry place.
    6. Remove and safely dispose of remote control batteries.

Safety Instructions:

  • Always keep the unit upright during storage and transport to prevent compressor damage. Wait at least 24 hours before starting if in doubt.
  • Avoid restarting the unit within 3 minutes of turning it off to protect the compressor.
  • Use the provided ON/OFF switch on the control panel, not the mains plug or an external timer.
  • Ensure the unit is connected to a 220-240 V / 50 Hz earthed outlet.
  • Do not cover or restrict airflow from grills. Maintain a minimum distance of 50cm from walls/objects.
  • Do not use cooling function above 35°C ambient temperature.
  • Do not use heating function below 7°C ambient temperature.
  • The unit contains R290 refrigerant gas; ensure the room is adequately sized (min 11.3m²) and ventilated to prevent stagnation of leaks, as refrigerant gas can pose a fire or explosion hazard if it contacts ignition sources.
  • Any repairs or maintenance (other than cleaning/filter replacement) must be performed by an authorized service representative.
  • Do not clean by spraying or immersing in water.
  • Do not use an extension cord; if an outlet is not available, install one with a qualified electrician.
  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Do not insert fingers or objects through guards.
  • Not intended for unsupervised use by children or persons with reduced capabilities.
