This document describes the Electrolux EGD6576NOK hob, a built-in appliance designed for cooking purposes in single household domestic environments. It combines both gas burners and induction cooking zones, offering a versatile cooking experience.
Function Description
The hob features a control panel with sensor fields and control knobs to operate its various functions. It includes two induction cooking zones (left front and left rear) and two gas burners (rapid and semi-rapid).
Gas Burners:
The gas burners are ignited by pushing down and turning the control knob counterclockwise to the maximum gas supply position. A thermocouple warms up to ensure the gas supply is maintained; if it doesn't light within 10 seconds, the gas supply is interrupted. The flame can be adjusted by turning the knob, and the minimum level can be fine-tuned with a bypass screw. For safety, the flame should always be turned down or off before removing pans. In case of a power cut, burners can be ignited manually with a flame.
Induction Cooking Zones:
The induction zones are activated and deactivated by touching a dedicated sensor field. They offer various features for efficient cooking:
- Heat Setting: Increased or decreased by touching +/- sensor fields. A specific heat setting can be deactivated by touching both +/- simultaneously.
- Automatic Heat Up: This function allows for faster heating by initially setting the zone to its highest heat setting for a limited time before automatically reducing it to the desired level. It can only be activated when the cooking zone is cold.
- PowerBoost: Provides additional power to induction zones for a limited period, after which the zone reverts to its highest heat setting.
- Timer: A count-down timer can be set for individual cooking zones, allowing users to define the duration of a cooking session. An acoustic signal sounds when the timer ends, and the zone deactivates.
- Minute Minder: This timer can be used independently of cooking zones when the hob is activated, providing an acoustic signal when the set time finishes.
Usage Features
The EGD6576NOK hob is designed with several features to enhance user safety and convenience:
- Automatic Switch Off: The hob automatically deactivates if all cooking zones are off, no heat setting is selected after activation, an object is placed on the control panel for too long, the hob overheats, incorrect cookware is used, or a cooking zone is left unattended for an extended period.
- Residual Heat Indicator: Displays 'H' or 'h' to warn users when a cooking zone is still hot, even after being switched off. This indicator may also appear for neighboring zones.
- STOP+GO Function: This feature sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting, useful for temporary interruptions during cooking. While active, heat settings cannot be changed.
- Lock Function: Allows users to lock the control panel while cooking zones are in operation, preventing accidental changes to heat settings.
- Child Safety Device: Prevents accidental operation of the hob. It can be activated and deactivated through specific sensor field combinations.
- Power Limitation: The hob's maximum power level can be adjusted to fit the house's electrical installation, with various preset power levels available.
- Power Management Function: Distributes power between cooking zones connected to the same electrical phase, automatically reducing power to other zones if the total load exceeds 3600 W on a single phase.
Maintenance Features
Regular care and cleaning are essential for maintaining the appliance's performance and appearance:
- General Cleaning: The hob should be cleaned after each use. A moist soft cloth and neutral detergents are recommended. A special scraper can be used for the glass surface. Abrasive products, solvents, or metal objects should be avoided.
- Burner Cleaning: The burner caps, crowns, and pan supports should be washed with warm soapy water and dried carefully. Stubborn stains on enamel can be removed with a paste cleaner. The pan supports are not dishwasher safe and must be washed by hand.
- Spark Plug Cleaning: The ceramic ignition candle and metal electrode should be kept clean to ensure easy lighting and prevent obstruction of burner crown holes.
- Stain Removal: Melted plastic, sugar, or sugary foods should be removed immediately with a special hob scraper to prevent damage. Limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and metallic discoloration should be removed once the hob is cool, using a moist cloth and non-abrasive detergent or a water-vinegar solution for metallic discoloration.
- Periodic Maintenance: It is recommended to contact an Authorised Service Centre periodically to check the gas supply pipe and pressure adjuster, if fitted.
