Overview

This document is a user manual for the Electrolux EZB3410AOW and EZB3410AOX ovens, providing detailed instructions for safe operation, daily use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The Electrolux EZB3410AOW and EZB3410AOX are built-in ovens designed for household use, offering a range of cooking functions to suit various culinary needs. The appliance features a control panel with a power lamp/symbol, a knob for heating functions, a display, a control knob for temperature, and a temperature indicator/symbol. Air vents for the cooling fan, heating elements, a lamp, and a fan are integrated into the design. The oven is equipped with removable shelf supports and multiple shelf positions, allowing for flexible arrangement of cookware.

Key heating functions include:

  • Light: To turn on the oven lamp without activating a cooking function.
  • True Fan Cooking: Ideal for baking on up to two shelf positions simultaneously and for drying food. When using this function, the recommended temperature setting is 20-40 °C lower than for Conventional Cooking.
  • Moist Fan Baking: This energy-saving function is designed to circulate air and recycle steam, keeping food soft inside and crispy outside, while reducing cooking time and energy consumption. The oven door should remain closed during operation for optimal energy efficiency.
  • Bottom Heat: Used for baking cakes with a crispy bottom and for preserving food.
  • Defrost: For defrosting vegetables and fruit, with defrosting time dependent on the amount and size of the frozen food.
  • Grilling: To grill flat food and toast bread.
  • Fast Grilling: For grilling large quantities of flat food and toasting bread.
  • Turbo Grilling: Designed for roasting larger meat joints or poultry with bones on one shelf position, as well as for making gratins and browning.
  • Conventional Cooking (Top / Bottom Heat): For baking and roasting food on one shelf position.

The oven also includes several clock functions:

  • Time of Day: To set, change, or check the current time.
  • Duration: To set how long the appliance operates.
  • End: To set when the appliance deactivates.
  • Time Delay: To combine the Duration and End functions, allowing for delayed start and automatic deactivation.
  • Minute Minder: A countdown timer that does not affect the operation of the appliance.

A cooling fan automatically activates during oven operation to keep the external surfaces cool. The oven is also equipped with a safety thermostat to prevent dangerous overheating by interrupting the power supply if necessary.

Usage Features

The oven is designed for intuitive use with retractable knobs that pop out when pressed. To set a heating function, the user turns the knob for heating functions and then the control knob to select the desired temperature. The oven lamp illuminates when the oven is operating.

Before first use, the oven requires initial cleaning and preheating. All accessories and removable shelf supports should be removed, cleaned, and then reinstalled. The empty oven should be preheated for a specified duration using different functions and maximum temperatures to burn off any manufacturing residues, which may produce an odor and smoke. Adequate airflow in the room is recommended during this process.

When inserting accessories, the wire shelf should be pushed between the guide bars with the feet pointing down. Small indentations on the shelf increase safety and act as anti-tip devices, while a high rim prevents cookware from slipping. The deep pan is inserted between the guide bars of the shelf support. For combined use, the deep pan is placed between the guide bars, and the wire shelf is placed on the guide bars above it.

Cooking recommendations are provided in tables, offering guidelines for temperature, cooking time, and shelf position for various foods, including cakes, bread, pizza, flans, meat, and fish. The manual advises against opening the oven door during the first 3/4 of the set cooking time for cakes and suggests using a deep pan for fatty foods to prevent permanent stains. For roasting, adding water to the deep pan helps prevent excessive smoke.

Maintenance Features

Regular care and cleaning are essential for maintaining the appliance's performance and longevity. Before any maintenance, the oven must be deactivated and disconnected from the power supply. The appliance should be cold before cleaning to prevent injury.

The oven's front should be cleaned with a soft, moist cloth and a mild detergent. Metal surfaces require a dedicated cleaning agent. The oven interior and all accessories should be cleaned after each use to prevent fat accumulation and food remains, which can pose a fire risk, especially for the grill pan. Stubborn dirt can be removed with a special oven cleaner. Nonstick accessories should not be cleaned with aggressive agents, sharp-edged objects, or in a dishwasher, as this can damage the coating.

The oven door gasket, located around the frame of the oven cavity, should be checked regularly for damage. If damaged, the oven should not be used, and an Authorized Service Centre should be contacted.

For thorough cleaning, the shelf supports can be removed by pulling the front and then the rear end away from the side walls. They are reinstalled in the reverse sequence.

The oven door has two glass panels that can be removed for cleaning. The user must open the door fully, hold both hinges, lift and turn the levers, and then close the door halfway to the first opening position before lifting and pulling it forward to remove it from its seat. The door should be placed on a soft cloth on a stable surface. The internal glass panel can then be removed by releasing the locking system and turning two fasteners. After cleaning with water and soap, the glass panels and door are reinstalled, ensuring the internal glass panel clicks correctly into its seats.

The internal lamp can be replaced by turning off the oven, allowing it to cool down, disconnecting it from the mains, and placing a cloth on the bottom of the cavity. The lamp glass cover is removed, and a suitable 300 °C heat-resistant lamp is installed before replacing the cover.

In case of issues, a troubleshooting guide helps identify possible causes and remedies, such as activating the oven if it doesn't heat up, setting the clock, or checking fuse boxes. For problems that cannot be resolved, contacting an Authorized Service Centre is recommended, providing the model, PNC, and serial number found on the rating plate.
