What to do if the green LED (active) fails to light up on my ELTEX Power Supply and there's no high voltage?
    • G
      gwalshJul 25, 2025
If the green LED (active) doesn't light up and there's no high voltage, it could be due to several reasons: * If the lamp in the mains power switch is lit, the transformer may be defective, in which case you should contact ELTEX Service. * If the lamp in the mains power switch doesn't light, the supply voltage may not be enabled or connected. Check the supply voltage and connections, as well as connected cables, cable connections, and bars. * A defective fuse could also be the cause. Try replacing the fuse.

      Mr. Michael BoydAug 5, 2025
If there's no high voltage, check the following: * If the lamp in the mains power switch is lit, it could indicate a defective transformer. In this case, contact ELTEX Service. * If the lamp in the mains power switch fails to light, the supply voltage may not be enabled or connected. Ensure the supply voltage and connections are properly checked. Also, inspect the connected cables, cable connections, and bars. * A defective fuse can also cause this issue. Replace the fuse to see if it resolves the problem.

Why is the red LED (fault) lit on my ELTEX Power Supply?
    • A
      Arthur BlackwellAug 15, 2025
The red LED (fault) lighting up on your ELTEX Power Supply can indicate several issues: * Dirty bars may be the cause. Clean the bars as described in the Maintenance section. * Sparking on cables and bars could also trigger the fault. Replace any defective cables and bars. * A defective plug connection might be the problem. Ensure the plug is properly inserted. * A significant source of EMC interference near the bar or power supply units can cause this. Try to locate and rectify the source of interference. If that's not possible, take measures to suppress the interference.

Summary

Outline of Appliance

Safety

Proper Use

Proper use of ES51 power supplies with appropriate Eltex discharging bars for AC operation.

Risks and Hazards Identification

Identifies risks and hazards using warning symbols in operating instructions.

Work and Operational Safety

Notes for work and operational safety, especially regarding maintenance and repairs.

Technical Advance

Manufacturer reserves the right to make technical changes without prior notice.

Installation and Assembly

Power Supply Assembly

Power supply is designed for wall mounting; operating elements must be accessible.

Ground Connection

Permanent ground connection via grounding terminal (6, Fig. 1) with min. 1.5 mm² cross section.

Discharging Bar Selection

Eltex discharging bars and ion blowers for AC operation can be connected to ES51 power supplies.

High Voltage Cable Connection

Connect/disconnect high voltage cables only with the power supply switched off.

Maximum Active Bar and Cable Length

Lengths of high voltage cable and active bars are limited due to capacitive load.

Supply Voltage Connection

Connect supply voltage via power supply lead (1, Fig. 1). Recommends machine contact for supply to bars.

Function and Fault Signal Connection

5-pin plug for function/fault signals; output voltage active and fault/pollution signals.

Operation

Startup Procedure

Ensure correct installation/assembly before switching on supply voltage. Use toggle switch to turn on.

Function and Pollution Monitoring

Proper operation indicated by illuminated switch; green LED for active, red LED for fault.

Maintenance

Power Supply Maintenance

Check power supply regularly for proper functioning and connections. No maintenance required for the unit itself.

Discharging Bars Maintenance

Clean bars weekly with compressed air and brush. Use suitable solvent for dirt deposits.
