5.1.5 Packing, preserving, and storing
Task Description
Preserving If the retrieval tool or the service valve is to be stored for a while after
maintenance, the equipment should be preserved with a multipurpose
lubricant. Make sure to select a type that also drives out moisture and
protects against corrosion.
Storing After the equipment has been properly cleaned, maintained, and
preserved, it should be stored in the original transport cases in which it
was delivered. These cases should be dry and clean on the inside before
the equipment is placed into them.
Maintenance during
storage
If the equipment has been properly preserved for storage as described,
no additional maintenance during storage is required.
