Power supply:
Make sure the correct voltage is applied to avoid damag-
ing the VSD.
A moulded-case circuit breaker must be installed between
the AC source and the VSD.
Moulded-case circuit breaker:
Use a moulded-case circuit breaker that conforms to the
rated voltage and current of the VSD to control the power
ON/OFF and protect the VSD.
Do not use the VSD as the switch for the run/stop switch.
Leakage breaker:
Install a leakage breaker to prevent error operation
caused by electric leakage and to protect operators.
Setting current should be 200 mA or above and the oper-
ating time at 0.1 second or longer to prevent malfunction.
Magnetic contactor:
Normal operations do not need a magnetic contactor. But
a contactor has to be installed on the primiary side when
performing functions such as external control and auto
restart after power failure, or when using brake controller.
Do not use the magnetic contactor as the run/stop switch
for the VSD.
AC reactor for power improvement:
When VSDs below 400 V 15 kW are supplied with a high-
capacity (above 600 kVA) power source an AC reactor
can be connected to improve the power performance.
VSD:
Input power terminals L1, L2, and L3 can be used in any
sequence regardless of phases.
Output terminals T1, T2, and T3 are connected to the
motor’s U, V, and W terminals. If the motor is reversed
while the VSD is forward, just swap any two of T1, T2, and
T3.
To avoid damaging the VSD, do not connect the output ter-
minals T1, T2, and T3 to AC power.
Connect the ground terminal properly. 400 V series:
<10
Ω.
