Fuel Type: Liquid Propane (LP) Gas only. Conversion to natural gas is dangerous and voids the warranty.
LP Gas Tank: Requires a standard 20 lb (9 kg) LP gas tank with external valve threads. The tank must be constructed and marked in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Specifications for LP-Gas Cylinders, or the Standard for Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Commission, CAN/CSA-B339 as applicable. It must be arranged for vapor withdrawal, have a listed overfilling prevention device (OPD), and a QCCI or Type I (CGA810) LP gas tank connection. The tank collar must protect the tank valve.
Gas Pressure: The pressure regulator is set for an 11-inch water column (28 cm). Maximum inlet gas pressure is also 11 inches water column.
Clearances:
- Do NOT operate, light, or use within ten feet (3.05 m) of walls, structures, or buildings.
- For apartment dwellers, use on the ground floor with a ten-foot (3.05 m) clearance from any structure. Do NOT use on or under balconies.
- Do NOT store or use gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors within 25 feet (7.62 m) of this appliance.
Fire Glass/Lava Rocks: Approximately 13.2 lbs (6 kg) of fire glass (0.8-1.6 in. / 2-4 cm long) or 6.6 lbs (3 kg) of lava rocks (0.8-2.0 in. / 2-5 cm long) are needed. Only factory-authorized glass rock or lava rock from Blue Rhino Global Sourcing, Inc. should be used.
Battery: Requires one AA 1.5V battery for the igniter.
Assembly Time: Approximately one hour.
