covered by warranty. If shipping damage is found, notify carrier at once. The
carrier is responsible for all repair and replacement costs resulting from damage
in shipment.
SAFETY FIRST
2.0 SAFETY ISSUES
Read all instructions, warnings and cautions carefully. Follow
all safety precautions to avoid personal injury or property
damage during system operation. Enerpac cannot be
responsible for damage or injury resulting from unsafe product use, lack of
maintenance or incorrect product and/or system operation. Contact Enerpac
when in doubt as to the safety precautions and operations. If you have never
been trained on high-pressure hydraulic safety, consult your distribution or
service center for a free Enerpac Hydraulic safety course.
Failure to comply with the following cautions and warnings could cause
equipment damage and personal injury.
A CAUTION is used to indicate correct operating or maintenance procedures and
practices to prevent damage to, or destruction of equipment or other property.
A WARNING indicates a potential danger that requires correct procedures or
practices to avoid personal injury.
A DANGER is only used when your action or lack of action may cause serious
injury or even death.
WARNING: Wear proper personal protective gear when operating
hydraulic equipment.
WARNING: Stay clear of loads supported by hydraulics. A cylinder,
when used as a load lifting device, should never be used as a load
holding device. After the load has been raised or lowered, it must
always be blocked mechanically.
WARNING: USE ONLY RIGID PIECES TO HOLD LOADS. Carefully
select steel or wood blocks that are capable of supporting the load.
Never use a hydraulic cylinder as a shim or spacer in any lifting or
pressing application.
DANGER: To avoid personal injury keep hands and feet
away from cylinder and workpiece during operation.
WARNING: The system operating pressure must not exceed the
pressure rating of the lowest rated component in the system. Install
pressure gauges in the system to monitor operating pressure. It is your
window to what is happening in the system.
CAUTION: Avoid damaging hydraulic hose. Avoid sharp bends and
kinks when routing hydraulic hoses. Using a bent or kinked hose will
cause severe back-pressure. Sharp bends and kinks will internally damage the
hose leading to premature hose failure.
Do not drop heavy objects on hose. A sharp impact may cause
internal damage to hose wire strands. Applying pressure to a
damaged hose may cause it to rupture.
IMPORTANT: Do not lift hydraulic equipment by the hoses or swivel
couplers. Use the carrying handle or other means of safe transport.
CAUTION: Keep hydraulic equipment away from fl ames and
heat. Excessive heat will soften packings and seals, resulting in
uid leaks. Heat also weakens hose materials and packings. For
optimum performance do not expose equipment to temperatures of 65°C [150°F]
or higher. Protect hoses and cylinders from weld spatter.
DANGER: Do not handle pressurized hoses. Escaping oil under
pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. If oil is
injected under the skin, see a doctor immediately.

What to do if Enerpac TQ-700B Water Pump runs but doesn't pump oil?
    • W
      wfrancoAug 14, 2025
If your Enerpac Water Pump runs but doesn't pump oil or build full pressure, several factors could be responsible. The pump may not be primed; try running it for a few minutes while gently tipping it from side to side. Ensure the reservoir breather is installed by removing the shipping plug. Check and add oil if the oil level is low. Inspect for external system leaks and repair as needed. Also, the oil intake screen might be clogged and require cleaning. If none of these steps work, there might be an internal leak, and you should consult an authorized service center.

Why Enerpac TQ-700B Water Pump electric valve will not operate?
    • J
      Jennifer DavisAug 18, 2025
If the electric valve on your Enerpac Water Pump isn't working, first ensure the pump is receiving power and the voltage is correct according to the pump's nameplate. Check the solenoid cable for disconnections or damage, and connect, repair, or replace it as necessary. If the solenoid coil is not operational, consult an authorized service center.

Why Enerpac TQ-700B Water Pump pressure gauge doesn't read zero?
    • M
      Melissa CastilloAug 21, 2025
If the pressure gauge on your Enerpac Water Pump doesn't read zero when the motor is stopped, the pressure may not be relieved. If that's not the case, the pressure gauge might be out of calibration and you should have it recalibrated by a qualified calibration facility.

Why Enerpac TQ-700B Water Pump won't start?
    • G
      Gary AndersonAug 25, 2025
If your Enerpac Water Pump doesn't start when pressing the “ON/ADV” button, there could be several reasons. First, ensure the pump is connected to a power source. Check the power cord for any damage. Also, verify if the circuit breaker has tripped and reset it if necessary. Low voltage can also cause this issue, so try turning off other electrical loads or using a heavier gauge extension cord. Finally, the pendant might be damaged, requiring repair by an authorized service center.

How to fix noisy Enerpac Water Pump?
    • J
      John EvansAug 27, 2025
Noisy operation of your Enerpac Water Pump can stem from several causes. Air might be trapped in the system, so bleed the air from the system. Ensure the reservoir breather is installed correctly by removing the shipping plug. Check that the oil level is adequate and add oil if low. Inspect for air leaks, tightening fittings or making necessary repairs. Lastly, a clogged oil intake screen can cause noise, so clean the oil intake screen.

Why Enerpac TQ-700B motor stops under load?
    • A
      Alicia HayesAug 31, 2025
If the motor of your Enerpac Water Pump stops under load, it could be due to low voltage. Try resetting the circuit breaker if it has tripped, reduce other electrical loads, and use a heavier gauge extension cord. Another possible cause is cold oil. If this is the case, reset the circuit breaker if tripped and run the pump at 2000 psi [140 bar] for 5 minutes to warm the oil before use; consider using Enerpac LX oil (ISO Grade 15) in cold climates.

What causes Enerpac TQ-700B Water Pump to run hot?
    • L
      lopezlauraSep 3, 2025
If your Enerpac Water Pump runs hot, check for a few potential issues. Restrictions in the advance or retract flow lines could be the cause, so inspect the couplers for full engagement. Ensure the oil level is sufficient by adding oil if needed. Verify that the oil cooler fan is functioning correctly. Also, the oil cooler heat exchanger might be covered with dirt or clogged, so clean the fins and fan and check the tubing for clogs.

What to do if Enerpac Water Pump builds pressure but torque wrench doesn't advance?
    • J
      Joe SmithSep 6, 2025
If your Enerpac Water Pump builds full pressure but the torque wrench doesn't advance, it could be because the torque required is greater than the wrench's capacity at full pressure; use a torque wrench with a larger capacity. Alternatively, the advance flow line to the wrench might be restricted or blocked, so check the couplers for full engagement.

Why Enerpac TQ-700B torque wrench will not retract?
    • J
      Joshua MckeeSep 10, 2025
If the torque wrench isn't retracting on your Enerpac Water Pump, the return flow line from the wrench might be restricted or blocked. Check the couplers for full engagement and run the motor when retracting. If this doesn't solve the issue, there may be a valve malfunction, and you should consult an authorized service center.
