After the sensor is connected correctly the con-
trol unit automatically recognizes the sensor
when the power supply is switched back on.
The relative humidity of the air is now regulat-
ed precisely by the controlled vaporizer..
A tip for the experts:
If the sensor does not work, connect it direct-
ly to the control unit using a shorter cable. The
error may lie in the connection to the sensor
which can then be excluded using this process.
The correct functioning of the sensor can now
be tested by breathing gently on the humidi-
ty sensor. This humidity of your breath should
then be displayed.
Important advice for the location of a
sauna hygrometer:
The relative humidity is lower the higher the
temperature of the air. The temperature is high-
est just underneath the ceiling of the cabin and
reduces the closer you get towards the oor.
Thus the humidity of the air close to the cabin
ceiling is relatively low. As a result, if you are us-
ing a sauna hygrometer, you should place it as
close as possible to the humidity sensor.
Any other mounting location could lead to
considerable dierences between the values
shown on the control unit and the hygrometer.
Remember that the readily available pointer
hygrometers may often supply very inaccurate
results and may also react very slowly.
The humidity sensor, on the other hand, reacts
very quickly and will measure the humidity in
the immediate vicinity and display it using the
control unit.
On the component side of the board for the
humidity module there are two contact pins
designed to accommodate a jumper (bridge),
position is shown below. For very old control
units like 4580 D 24, the sensor must be adapt-
ed by adding a jumper.
When controlling EmoTec HCS 9003, HCS 9003
DB/DL/DLF, EmotTouch PB/AF/GF and our old-
er units 4590 D24 and Econ H2S, H3, H4 the
jumper is not used.

6. Adaptions for the old con-
trol units
If, after a long period of operation, the humid-
ity is not shown accurately or not regulated,
the sensor can be cleaned by submerging it in
alcohol.
