Before transporting any lithium-ion battery, check the current regulations on the transport
of dangerous goods. Comply with these when preparing the packaging and transport. Train
authorised sta to dispatch lithium-ion batteries.
NOTE
Itisrecommendedthattheoriginalpackagingiskeptforanysubsequentdispatch.

Transporting only the lithium battery
Aclass9dangerlabelmustbeaxedtothepackagingfortransport.
Itisdierentifthebatteryistransportedonitsownorinatruck.Anexampleofalabel
appearsinthissupplement(seegurebelow).Refertothelatestcurrentregulationsbefore
dispatchastheinformationmighthavechangedsincethissupplementwaswritten.
Specialdocumentsmustbesentwiththebattery.Refertotheapplicablestandardsor
regulations.
NOTE
Rechargethelithium-ionbatterybeforetransportingittakingaccountofthetransportmode(
boat,road).Excessivedischargeonarrivalcoulddamagetheperformanceofthe
battery.

9.1 Shipping faulty batteries
To transport these faulty lithium-ion batteries, contact the manufacturer's customer
service department. Faulty lithium-ion batteries must not be transported independently.
NOTE
"Overpack"isthenamefortheouterpackagingofthedangerousgoods.
Donotpackhigherthan1.2mabovetheoorofthecontainerandsecureproperly.
