Purpose of Engraver
The main function of the Epilog Mini Laser Engraver is to
receive a job from the computers in the computer lab and to
engrave the desired image onto the material placed onto the
table. For safety precautions and instructions on how to
properly operate the engraver, look below and to the preceding
pages.
Safety Precautions
Always remember to keep the following safety precautions
in mind when operating the Epilog Mini Laser Engraver.
Stay with the laser - do not operate the laser while it is
unattended.
Keep the area clear - keep the general area around the
laser clear to avoid possible accidents.
Be prepared with a fire extinguisher - always keep a
properly maintained and inspected fire extinguisher on hand
just in case.
Use air assist - always use the system’s Air Assist feature
when vector cutting.
Use caution when vector cutting - many materials have
the potential to burst into flames when cut with a laser.
Always monitor machine when operating.
Clean the laser - a buildup of cutting and engraving
residue and debris is dangerous and can create a fire hazard
in its own. Make sure to keep area as clean as possible.
