  If you are experiencing print quality problems with your Epson Printer, ensure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet feeder. Ensure that Automatic is selected as the Mode setting in your printer driver’s Main menu (Windows) or in the Print dialog box (Macintosh). Check the B black and A color ink out lights; if a light is flashing, replace the appropriate ink cartridge. Also, make sure that Maximum is not selected as the Printable Area setting and that the Media Type selected is appropriate for the paper loaded.

  If your Epson Printer is producing blurry or smeared printouts, ensure your paper is dry and the printable side is facing up. Select Automatic as the Mode setting in your printer driver. If the paper is curled, flatten it or curl it slightly toward the opposite side. Set the adjust lever to the '+' position and ensure the Media Type setting is correct. Remove each sheet from the output tray as it is printed, especially with transparencies. When printing on glossy media or transparencies, place a support sheet beneath the stack. You may also run the Head Cleaning and Print Head Alignment utilities. Ink may have leaked inside the printer, so wipe it with a soft, clean cloth.
