ENGINE DOES NOT START
What to check

Does the engine
crank?

Faulty recoil starter.
Fluid in the crankcase.
Internal damage.
Have repaired in a service center.

Good compression?
NO

Loose spark plug.
Excess wear on cylinder,
piston and rings.
Tighten and re-test.
Have repaired in a service center.
YES
Does the tank contain
fresh fuel of proper
grade and correct
mixing ratio?
NO
──►
Fuel incorrect, stale or contami-
nated.
Incorrect fuel mixing ratio.
Refill tank with fresh fuel of cor-
rect mixing ratio (gasoline and
two-stroke oil mixing ratio 40:1).
YES
Is fuel visible and
moving in the return
line when priming?
NO
──►
Check for clogged fuel filter
and/or vent.
Clean if necessary and restart.
YES
Is there spark at the
spark plug wire ter-
minal?
NO

Ignition switch is in ”O”-position
(STOP).
Faulty ignition ground.
Faulty transistor unit.
Move switch to ”I”-position
(START) and restart.
Have repaired in a service center.
YES
Have you checked
the spark plug?
NO

If the plug is wet, excess fuel
may be in the cylinder.
The plug is fouled or improperly
gapped.
The plug is damaged internally
or is of wrong size.
Crank the engine with the plug
removed, replace the plug and
restart.
Clean, re-gap the plug to 0,60,7
mm and restart.
Replace the plug and restart.
