Overview

This document describes the EuropAce Front Load Washing Machine, model EFW 8100T, a domestic appliance designed for washing clothes. The machine is marketed under the "EuropAce" brand, established in 1992, and emphasizes "Celebrate Fine Living!"

Function Description:

The EuropAce EFW 8100T is a front-loading washing machine that meets modern requirements for effective laundry treatment with reduced consumption of water, electricity, and detergent. Its innovative system aims for full detergent utilization and energy savings. The machine offers various washing programs and options to cater to different fabric types and soil levels.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: AC 220-230V~50/60Hz.
  • Water Supply Pressure: 50-800 kPa.
  • Temperature Range: Adjustable from cold up to 90°C, depending on the program. The "Eco 20°C" program has a maximum temperature of 20°C.
  • Spin Speed: Adjustable, with a maximum rpm depending on the program.
  • Loading Capacity: Ranges from 5 Kg to 10 Kg, with specific maximum and minimum load recommendations for each program.
  • Detergent Dispenser: Features three compartments:
    • Compartment I: For pre-wash or soaking detergent.
    • Compartment II: For main wash detergent (powder or liquid).
    • Compartment III: For liquid additives (fabric softener, starching), with a "MAX" mark to prevent overfilling.
  • Dimensions (for under work plain installation): Width of 76cm, height of 85cm, with approximately 5cm clearance needed from the wall.
  • Safety Features:
    • Child safety locking feature.
    • Door lock LED indicator.
    • Transportation screws to protect the washing unit during transport.
    • Requires connection to a legal standard protective (earthing system) power unit.
    • Power cord must be accessible after installation.
    • Automatic shutdown if the power cord is damaged.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Includes:
    • Programme Selection Knob (1): Used to select a washing program and turn the machine OFF. Can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise.
    • Temperature Selection Knob (2): Adjusts the washing temperature.
    • Spin Regulation Button (3): Adjusts the spin speed, with the selected value shown on a digit display.
    • Extra Rinse and Rinse Hold Button (4): Offers three states: Led steadily on (extra rinse), Led blinking (rinse hold), Led off (exclusion of both). Extra rinse adds an additional rinse cycle. Rinse hold stops the machine with water in the tank, preventing draining and spinning until the START/PAUSE button is pressed.
    • Prewash and Soak Button (5): Offers three states: Led steadily on (prewash), Led blinking (soak), Led off (exclusion of both). Prewash is for low-temperature washing before the main cycle to remove stains. Soak is for soaking laundry before the main wash.
    • START/PAUSE Button (6): Activates and deactivates the selected washing program.
    • Delayed Start and Child Safety Button (7):
      • Delayed Start: Adjusts the start delay from 1 to 24 hours. The countdown begins after pressing START/PAUSE.
      • Child Safety: Activated by pressing and holding the button after the wash cycle starts until the "Door Lock" LED flashes. Disabled by pressing and holding again until the LED stops flashing.
  • First Use: Before regular use, it is recommended to run a wash cycle with detergent, no laundry, at 60°C with the cotton program.
  • Loading Laundry: Load loose laundry one at a time to prevent nodes. Avoid excessive loads or loads less than half the rated capacity to prevent strain on the machine and excessive noise. Minimize spin speed for uneven or excessive/low loads to avoid strong vibrations.
  • Detergent Dosage: Optimal amount depends on dirt level, laundry quantity, and water hardness. Quality products may require less detergent; using 20% less than usual is often sufficient.
  • Detergent Type:
    • Detergent Powder: More aggressive, contains enzymes for dirt removal, but can make fabrics rough and dry. May cause allergies and leave insoluble residues in the tank and drainage system. Recommended temperature: 30°C - 90°C.
    • Liquid Detergents: Modern, superior cleaning features, less alkaline, preserves fabric quality, cleans without hardening fibers, leaves no solid residues. Ideal for colored clothes. Recommended temperature: 0°C - 90°C.
  • Softener: Highly concentrated, makes laundry soft. Use sparingly or diluted (50% or more).
  • Pausing Wash Cycle: Press START/PAUSE to enter standby mode. To change the program, turn the program selection knob to OFF before selecting a new program. The door can only be opened when the red LED turns off and the drum is empty of water.
  • Fabric Care Symbols: The manual includes a comprehensive guide to fabric care symbols for washing, laundry, ironing, and bleaching, indicating maximum temperatures, dry cleaning methods, ironing temperatures, and bleaching possibilities.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cabinet Cleaning: Clean with warm water and a soft cloth, without detergent, to maintain shine.
  • Detergent Drawer Cleaning: Rinse frequently with water to avoid detergent deposits. The drawer can be removed by pressing the encircled area (Figure 6).
  • Drain Pump Filter Cleaning: Recommended monthly to minimize clogging.
    1. Open the drain pump door (e.g., with a coin).
    2. Turn off the washing machine.
    3. Position a basin to collect water.
    4. Loosen the filter just enough to drain water.
    5. Once water stops, unscrew the entire filter.
    6. Clean the filter and verify the drain propeller rotates easily. Remove any debris.
    7. Replace and firmly screw the filter. (Warning: If not reinserted or screwed tightly, water could spill).
  • Detergent Drawer Vent Steam Plate Cleaning: Remove the vent steam plate after removing the detergent drawer. Clean any clogged foreign bodies or detergent lumps, taking care not to push them into the internal circuit. Hot water can help remove detergent easily.
  • Door Gasket: Regularly check and remove foreign objects (nails, needles, coins, paper clips) from the folds of the door gasket to prevent damage to the machine and laundry.
  • General:
    • Leave the door ajar when the machine is off for better seal preservation and to prevent musty odors.
    • Always check that water has drained before opening the door.
    • Close the water tap when the machine is turned off.
    • Remove the power plug when the machine is not used for long periods.

Safety Instructions and Warnings:

  • Do not wash foreign bodies (nails, needles, coins, paper clips) with laundry.
  • Rinse items treated with solvents thoroughly before washing.
  • Never use detergents containing solvents (petrol, trichlorethylene) as they can damage components and generate toxic fumes.
  • The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from failure to follow instructions.
  • Do not connect the machine with extension cords or multiple power sockets to avoid overheating.
