The wall outlet itself might not be energized, in which case you should check the fuses and circuit breaker. It’s also possible the appliance is not switched on, so set the switch knob(s) to the required cooking program (LOW / HIGH / WARM). In rare cases, the switch knob can be damaged.

Another cause can be food on the outside of the cooking pot or between the cooking pot and the inner heating element, so switch the appliance off, let it cool down, and thoroughly clean the cooking pot and the inner heating element.
