Usage Features
Installation:
The electric fireplace should be located in an area out of direct sunlight, not susceptible to moisture, and away from uninsulated outside walls. It is a heavy unit, and two people are recommended for moving the assembled stove to prevent injury. The stove must be assembled near its desired location.
Clearance to Combustibles:
- Sides: 4 in. (101.6 mm)
- Floor: 0 in. (0 mm)
- Top: 36 in. (914 mm)
- Front: 36 in. (914 mm)
- Rear: 0 in. (0 mm)
Combustible materials such as furniture, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains must be kept at least 3 ft. (0.9 meter) away from the front of the appliance, and all items away from the sides and rear. The unit should not be installed on shelves, raised platforms, beds, blankets, or pillows.
Electrical Connection:
A 15-Amp, 120-Volt, 60 Hz dedicated circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. The unit must always be plugged directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Extension cords or re-locatable power taps (outlet/power strips) should never be used. The cord should not be run under carpeting or covered by throw rugs, runners, or similar items, and must be arranged away from traffic areas to prevent tripping. If an adapter is used for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles, the green grounding lug must be connected to a permanent ground. Adapters are not allowed for use in Canada.
Operation:
The control panel is located behind the door of the stove.
- Main Power Switch: This switch supplies power to all functions and must be in the ON position for the stove to operate.
- Flame Effect: Toggling the Power Switch ON will activate the flame effect, visible through the front glass, and illuminate the Power indicator light.
- Temperature Knob: This knob regulates the room's temperature level. Rotating it clockwise increases the ambient temperature.
- Temperature Limiting Control: If the heater reaches an unsafe temperature, it will automatically turn off. To reset, unplug the power cord, wait 5 minutes, ensure the Power switch is in the OFF position, then plug the power cord back into the outlet.
When used for the first time, a slight odor may be present, which is normal and should dissipate after initial use.
