CURRENT SET OF SAFETY DECALS
P/N-31228
Both the single and double chains must be crossed
under the tongue. They must be oriented in such a
manner as to prevent the tongue from dropping to
the ground in the event of failure to the hitch,
coupler or ball. The Chains must be connected to
the towing vehicle so that the slack for each length
of chain, between the trailer and the towing vehicle,
is the same and must have no more slack when in
use than is necessary to permit proper turning of
the vehicles. The forward end of the chain must be
attached to the towing vehicle, not to the ball, but
to the hitch or other frame member. The chain must
be looped around the member and hooked back
into itself.
