During assembly and with use of this coupling bike carrier, follow the following safety noti-
ces exactly:
• Keep the operating instructions during the life span of the product
• Forward the operating instructions to the subsequent owners and users of this product
NOTE: Be sure to read these operating instructions carefully before you begin with the assembly
of the coupling bike carrier! Observe the safety notices in particular! Do not install and / or use the
product if you are unsure of its proper assembly. Do not install the accessory and do not use it if
the delivered equipment is not complete.
•
Pay attention to the permitted axle load of the vehicle. The permitted axle load may not be excee-
ded when bicycles are loaded. The independent weight of the coupling bike carrier is 17.38 kg!
• Maximum load capacity of the bike carrier: 60 kg (3 bicycles).
• The vehicle must be equipped with a type-approved trailer coupling with a maximum support
load of at least 50 kg – Minimum quality St 52-3 or GGG 52.
• D-value: Please observe the information from the vehicle/coupling manufacturer about the
permitted D-value of the coupling ball with mount. The D-value of the coupling ball with mount
should be at least 7.6 kN, since it does not work upon the middle axle of the coupling ball in
vertical fashion. In place of the D-value, with older coupling balls with mount, the permitted
trailer load and the permitted total weight of the towing vehicle GK is given. From this, the
D-value of the coupling ball with mount can be calculated as follows:
D = (9,81/1000) x (G[A] x G [K]) / (G[A] + G[K])
D in [kN], G[A] in [kg], G[K] in [kg]
• When the coupling bike carrier is installed, it must bear a licence plate (the licence plate on the
vehicle will not be visible). In accordance with § 60 StVZO and § 5b SVG, the ofcial marking
(licence plate) of the vehicle must be repeated on the coupling bike carrier. Before driving, ins-
tall a licence plate on the coupling bike carrier which is the same as that on your vehicle!
Rear lighting devices
• The rear lighting devices of the vehicle are partially covered by the rear carrying system. The
rear carrying system must thus be provided with its own lighting and its own marking. The
scope of the repetition of lights depends on the date of the rst registration of the vehicle.
