Ifthereporteddeviationis45°orhigher,itis
highlyrecommendedthattheEVunitismoved
andre-installedinalocationwhichissubjectto
lessmagneticinterference.Afterthelinearization
processhassuccessfullycompletedyoucancheck
thecurrentdeviationvalueatanytimefromthe
diagnosticspages.
Note:If“--”isdisplayedastheDeviationvalue,it
meansthatlinearizationhasnotbeensuccessfully
completedyet.
Checkthecompassheadingdata
Aspartoftheautopilotsystemcommissioning
process,itisrecommendedthatyoucheckthe
compassheadingvaluedisplayed,againstagood
knownheadingsourceonvariousheadings.
Note:Oncethelinearizationprocesshas
completed,itispossiblethattheheadingvalue
mayhaveaslightoffsetof2to3degrees.This
iscommonwhereinstallationspaceislimited,
andtheEVunitcannotbeproperlyalignedtothe
vessel'slongitudinalaxis.Inthiscase,itispossible
tomanuallyadjusttheCompassOffsetvalue.
Note:DoNOTrelyonthereportedheadinguntil
compasslinearizationandalignmentiscomplete.
Systemmonitoringandadaptation
Toensureoptimumperformance,aftertheinitial
linearizationprocessiscompletetheEVcontinuesto
monitorandadaptthecompasslinearizationtosuit
currentconditions.
Iftheconditionsforlinearizationarelessthanideal,
theautomaticlinearizationprocesstemporarily
pausesuntilconditionsimproveagain.Thefollowing
conditionscancausethelinearizationprocessto
temporarilypause:
•Boatspeed<3knots.
•Boatspeed>15knots.
•Rate-of-turnistooslow.
•Signicantmagneticinterferenceispresent

1.SelectMENU.
2.SelectSet-up.
3.SelectDiagnostics.
4.SelectAboutPilot.
Thedetailsrelatedtothepilotdiagnosticsare
displayed.
5.Scrolldowntothebottomofthelisttoviewthe
entryforDeviation.
Note:If“--”isdisplayedastheDeviationvalue,it
meansthatlinearizationhasnotbeensuccessfully
completedyet.
AdjustingtheCompassOffset
WiththepilotinStandby:
1.FromtheVesselSettingsmenu:(Menu>
Set-up>AutopilotCalibration>Vessel
Settings).
2.SelectCompassOffset.
3.Usethe+/-10button(p70/p70s)orROTARY
control(p70R/p70Rs)toadjustthecompass
offsetasappropriate.
TheCompassOffsetcanbeadjustedbetween
–10°and+10°.
