Working Safely
Keep the equipment, cutting attach-
ments and protective blade cover in
good condition in order to prevent inju-
ry.
If dropped, check the equipment for
signicant damage or defects.
Observe the specied working angle
60°±10°, in order to guarantee safe
working.
Do not use the electric pruner when
standing on a ladder or in an unsafe
position.
Do not be tempted to make unconsid-
ered cuts. Doing so may endanger
both yourself and others.
Children must be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the equip-
ment.
Change your working position regu-
larly. Long use of the equipment can
result in vibration-related circulatory
disorders in the hands. However, the
length of use can be extended by us-
ing suitable gloves or taking regular
breaks. Note that a personal tendency
for poor circulation, low outdoor tem-
peratures, or high gripping forces dur-
ing work will reduce the length of use.
Cleaning/Maintenance/
Storage
Basically, carry out mainte-
nance and cleaning works
with switched-off motor and
power plug removed. Danger
of injury!
Leave any maintenance and
servicing work not covered
by this manual to our Ser-
vice-Center. Use only original
spare parts.
Cleaning
Do not use cleaning agents or sol-
vents. You may otherwise irrepara-
bly damage the appliance.
Keep clean the ventilation slots, motor
housing and handles of the appliance.
Use a damp cloth or a brush.
Saw chain (
1) is to be wiped only
with a dry cloth.
Resharpening of the saw
chain
Leave the resharpening of a saw chain
to an expert or proceed according to the
instructions of your saw chain sharpener.
Resharpening a saw chain takes some
practice. If in doubt, replacing the saw
chain is preferable.
Storage
Clean the equipment before putting it
away.
Put on blade cover (
18).
Always empty the oil tank before paus-
es in operation lasting several weeks
because the biological chain oil can
become resinous and block the oil out-
let channel. Dispose of used oil in an
environmentally correct manner.
Store the device in a dry, frost-free,
and dust-protected place and out of
reach of children.
Because there is a ventilation open-
ing in the oil tank lid, it cannot al-
ways be excluded that oil is emitted
in all device positions. It is therefore
advisable to empty the oil tank be-
fore each storage period.
