Upgrade instruction for Fluke ii900/ii910 units
Equipment
A Windows-PC. The firmware file that will be provided needs to be copied to this PC.
BP291 battery that comes with ii900 Series
USB-C cable that comes with ii900 Series
Preparation for upgrading multiple units
Use a BP291 battery that comes with the ii900 series battery (e.g. from one of the units) and
make sure it is charged to a level of 25%, or more.
Use a USB-C cable (included with each ii900 Series) to connect Fluke ii900 series units to the USB
port of a PC
Upgrading units
Open the packaging, take case out of the box and take unit out of the case.
Open battery door, put battery in the unit, close battery door
Power on the Fluke ii900/ii910. Note that it may take about 15…20 seconds before the unit
shows anything on screen.
Connect the USB cable to the ii9x0 and to a USB-port of the PC
On the PC, open Explorer and notice that a new device FLK-ii900-Series (or -ii910-) is now listed
in the list of drives and devices (see picture).
Copy the new firmware file named (filename).SWU file from the PC
to the root folder (User Data) of the Fluke ii9x0 Series imager.
Once copied, the ii9x0 screen will show message, telling you that a
firmware update file is recognized, unit want to upgrade
Tap Yes to confirm and start the firmware update. This may take a
few minutes (2 - 4 min. approx.)
Once fully installed, a message will show on screen of the ii9x0,
telling you that the unit is about to restart
Touch “OK” to activate the restart. The Fluke ii900 Series unit will
turn off and then on again. Like before, it may take over 15…20
seconds before the screen becomes active
Verify that the new firmware has been loaded indeed: tap the screen, this will open a menu bar
at the left, tap Settings, tap ‘Imager Info’. This will open a screen showing Model, Serial Number,
and OS. This line should indicate the newly released firmware version (e.g: V4.6.168.x).
Take off the grey cover that sits over the microphone array at the front of the imager
