Why is my Follett HMD1000R Ice Maker running but not making ice?
    • N
      Nicole TorresAug 13, 2025
Your Follett Ice Maker might be running but not producing ice due to several reasons: * A defective compressor, start relay, start capacitor, or run capacitor may be the cause. Consider replacing these components. * A defective main contactor or PC board could also be the issue, requiring replacement. * The machine might be in a Purge cycle. Check for Purge operation.

What to do if my Follett HMD1000R is not making ice and shows HI AMPS?
    • R
      Ryan MontgomeryAug 17, 2025
If your Follett Ice Maker isn't producing ice and displays a HI AMPS error, consider the following: * Poor water quality might be causing ice to jam the auger. Clean the ice machine and increase flushing frequency. * A damaged shuttle mechanism or thermostat (closed) could be the problem. Replace or repair these components. * A kinked transport tube (in thermostat systems) can cause this. Straighten the transport tube. * Intermittent drive output from the PC board may cause the evaporator to freeze, leading to a hi amps error. Replace the PC board. * Ensure the gearmotor is properly plugged in.

Why is my Follett HMD1000R not making ice and showing a Lo water error?
    • M
      Mr. Andrew GeorgeAug 20, 2025
If your Follett Ice Maker isn't making ice and displays a Lo water error, it could be due to: * The water supply being turned off. Turn the water supply on. If the evaporator was completely empty, you may need to press the reset button to restart the ice machine. * Low water pressure. The ice machine will eventually start when the water reaches the normal low level. * A defective water feed solenoid valve stuck in the closed position. Replace the water feed solenoid valve. * No water feed output from the PC board. Replace the PC board.

Why is my Follett HMD1000R in TIME DELAY even though the bin is not full?
    • L
      leonjohnAug 25, 2025
If your Follett Ice Maker is in TIME DELAY without a full bin, it could be due to: * Ice jamming caused by an improperly installed transport tube, leading to a false shuttle. Correct the transport tube routing. * The shuttle being stuck in the up position. Repair or replace the shuttle mechanism. * A damaged or improperly installed thermostat (open). Replace or reposition the thermostat. * The transport tube backing out of the coupling. Correct the coupling installation.

Why is there excessive water in the bin of my Follett HMD1000R?
    • V
      Victoria FlemingAug 27, 2025
Excessive water in the bin of your Follett Ice Maker might be due to: * Failed water sensors, causing the processor to incorrectly detect water levels. Try cleaning or replacing the water probe assembly and checking the wiring connections. * A blocked reservoir vent. Clean or replace the vent tubes. * A defective water feed solenoid valve stuck in the open position. Replace the water feed solenoid valve.

What to do if my Follett HMD1000R is not making ice due to a drain clog?
    • M
      Monica FordSep 1, 2025
If your Follett Ice Maker is not making ice due to a drain clog: * Check for a kinked or plugged drain hose causing water to back up. Remove any kinks or blockages. * Ensure proper fol or drain routing/pitch to prevent water backup. Re-route the fol or drain if necessary. * High TDS levels and a leaking drain solenoid may cause a drain clog. Clean the area around the drain sensor and/or replace the drain solenoid valve.

What does it mean when my Follett HMD1000R is locked in PURGE and not making ice?
    • G
      guerrerochristopherSep 4, 2025
If your Follett Ice Maker is locked in PURGE and not making ice, it could be because: * A self-flush occurred but the evaporator could not drain due to a failed drain solenoid valve. Replace the drain solenoid valve. * A self-flush occurred but the evaporator could not drain because the water reservoir or ice machine is not level. Level the ice machine and check the water reservoir to ensure it is not tilted towards the compressor.

What to do if the CPU is not flashing on my Follett HMD1000R Ice Maker?
    • D
      Dale PorterSep 8, 2025
If the CPU is not flashing on your Follett Ice Maker, the processor may be damaged. Replace the PC board.
