Why is there still air in my FoodSaver Kitchen Appliances bag after vacuum sealing?

If air remains in the bag after vacuum sealing, ensure the open end of the bag is entirely inside the Vacuum Channel. Check the bag for any leaks. If using a custom-sized FoodSaver[®] Bag, inspect the seal. Do not attempt to create your own side seams for FoodSaver[®] Bags.

      Karen StricklandAug 11, 2025
If nothing happens when you try to vacuum package, check the power cord to ensure it is firmly plugged into the electrical outlet and examine it for any damages. Test the outlet by plugging in another appliance. Ensure the lid is closed and the latch is locked. If your appliance has a mode switch, verify it is set to the correct mode. Also, make sure the bag is placed correctly inside the Vacuum Channel. If the appliance does not start, wait 20 minutes for it to cool off before trying again.
