Overview

The FOREO PEACH™ 2 is an over-the-counter device designed for the removal of unwanted body and/or facial hair, utilizing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. It aims to break the cycle of hair growth by transferring light energy through the skin's surface, which is then absorbed by melanin in the hair shaft. This absorbed light energy converts to heat, disabling the hair follicle and causing treated hairs to naturally fall out over 1-2 weeks. The device is suitable for use on body hair and female facial hair below the cheek line. It is effective on light, medium, and dark skin tones, up to and including skin tone 5, and on naturally black or brown hair. It may not be as effective on white, grey, blonde, or red hair.

The PEACH™ 2 features Skin Cooling Ducts that gently air cool the skin for optimal comfort during treatment. A 9 cm² Treatment Window delivers 7.3 J/cm² of IPL energy for quick and efficient hair removal and to prevent regrowth. For eye safety, an innovative Protective Shield made of silicone protects the eyes from intense light pulses. The device also includes a Device Cooling Vent to ensure it remains cool for optimal treatment.

Operation is straightforward with a Flash Button that activates the IPL flash. Pressing it once engages 'Stamp Mode,' while continuous pressing activates 'Glide Mode.' Plus & Minus Buttons allow users to adjust the IPL intensity level to suit their skin's needs for different body areas. Indicator Lights clearly show the selected IPL intensity level. The device is designed with a Self-Adjusting Head that is bendable, allowing for easy, even, and comfortable treatment of hard-to-reach creases and corners of the body.

The PEACH™ 2 is App Connected, offering access to more settings, treatment guidance, and reminders through the FOREO app. It comes with 4 Plug Adaptors that can be easily attached and detached from the power cable, making it suitable for use at home or abroad. A Cleaning Cloth is also provided to keep the device clean and dry.

Before first use, users must unlock and register their PEACH™ 2 via the FOREO app, which can be done by scanning a QR code found on the packaging or Quick Start Guide. Preparation involves removing any visible hair from the skin, with shaving recommended for body hair and dermaplaning for facial hair, ensuring no hair remains above the skin surface to prevent injury and debris accumulation. The treatment area should be clean and dry.

To turn on the device, the relevant plug adaptor is attached to the power cable, which is then connected to an electrical outlet. The device powers on automatically, and intensity levels can be adjusted using the plus and minus buttons. Levels 1-3 are recommended for sensitive areas and first-time users, with the suggestion to increase the setting within the recommended intensity range if comfortable, as reduced light intensity may require more treatments for desired effects.

A Patch Test is recommended before the first treatment on any new body area. This involves treating an approximately 3cm x 3cm area (equivalent to one flash) in 'Stamp Mode' and waiting 24 hours to check for adverse reactions. If no reaction occurs, the surrounding area can be treated, but the patch-tested area should not be re-treated for at least two weeks.

The device offers two treatment methods:

  • Glide Mode: Ideal for fast and efficient treatment of large areas like legs, arms, chest, back, and stomach. Users place the treatment window firmly on the skin, select intensity, then press and hold the flash button. The device will flash continuously as it is slowly glided from bottom to top of the treatment area, maintaining full skin contact. Once a stroke is complete, the device is lifted and repeated on the next adjacent area.
  • Stamp Mode: Suitable for smaller or hard-to-reach areas such as the face, bikini line, and underarms. The treatment window is placed firmly on the skin, intensity selected, and the flash button is pressed and instantly released for a single flash. The device is then lifted and moved to the next adjacent spot, continuing spot by spot until the area is complete.

For effective treatment, the PEACH™ 2 treatment window must be in full contact with the skin for the flash to work. Users should ensure even application, avoiding missed spots by placing the window directly next to previously treated areas, but also avoiding flashing the same area more than once to prevent skin reactions. If intense pain is experienced, treatment should be stopped immediately, and a physician consulted.

The recommended treatment schedule for optimal results is once every two weeks for 12 weeks to ensure all hair follicles are treated. After this initial phase, monthly treatments or treatments as required are recommended for maintenance. Treatments should ideally occur within three days before or after the planned date; if this window is missed, the initial phase should be restarted.

For maintenance, after each treatment, the device should be switched off by unplugging it from the power supply. The treatment window should be thoroughly wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. It is crucial to keep the front of the device and reflector free from dirt, hair, or other debris to ensure maximum performance. The treatment window can get hot, so it should not be touched or cleaned for at least 5 minutes after use to allow it to cool down. Cleaning products containing alcohol, petrol, or acetone should never be used, as they can irritate the skin and damage the silicone. Care should also be taken to prevent water from entering any openings, including the skin cooling ducts.
