How to fix low output on my Forney Welding System?
- PPhilip EnglishNov 16, 2025
If you're experiencing low output or non-penetrating welds with your Forney Welding System, several factors could be responsible. First, the weld parameters might be too low, so try adjusting them. Another potential cause is using too long or an improper extension cord; use a proper extension cord (#12 AWG wire or heavier, no longer than 25 ft.). A poor ground connection or torch/electrode connection could also be the culprit; reposition the clamp and check the cable connections. Additionally, insufficient input power could be the issue, so have a qualified electrician verify the voltage at your outlet and ensure the circuit wiring is sufficient. Finally, low pulse settings can cause this problem; increase the Pulse (% On) and Pulse (Hz), as very low frequency can cool the weld puddle too ...
