The Fox Micron is a sophisticated digital bite alarm designed for anglers, featuring a weatherproof sealed case and advanced digital circuitry. Its primary function is to alert the user to a fish bite through both audible and visual indications, incorporating a "See-Saw Effect Elimination Feature" to prevent false alarms.
To activate the unit, push down and release the power switch. To deactivate, push up and release the power switch (the LED will briefly flash red). The unit does not beep when switched on or off.
The Micron offers eight different volume settings. Turn the knob clockwise to increase volume and anti-clockwise to decrease it.
There are eight different tone settings available. Turn the knob clockwise to raise the pitch and anti-clockwise to lower it.
This feature allows for infinite alignment adjustability of the Micron's facing position. If the Micron is not facing the desired position, unscrew it until you can access the locking screw. Back the locking screw a quarter to half a turn, then screw the Micron back on to adjust its angle.
These slots are integrated into the design, likely for attaching or illuminating micro lights, enhancing visibility in low-light conditions.
The Microns require 2 x LR6 AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries. Using good quality batteries is essential for maximum battery life. To reduce the risk of battery leakage:
When the Micron detects that its batteries are failing, the main LED colour changes to purple. Batteries should be replaced at the earliest opportunity. The unit may continue to work for some time in this condition, especially if the volume setting is reduced. No audible indication of low battery is given. It is not possible to change the LED colour once it has changed to purple.
While Microns are designed to be weatherproof, it is important to allow the unit to dry out properly after use in heavy rain. This involves bringing the unit indoors and removing the hard case cover.
