Why does my Franklin Electric submonitor Protection Device overheat?
- AAngela DanielsSep 7, 2025
Several factors can cause your Franklin Electric Protection Device to overheat. Check and stabilize the line voltage if it's too high or too low. Reduce the load on the motor if it is overloaded. Balance the current across all phases if there's excessive current unbalance. Also, improve cooling around the motor and reduce the water temperature if it's too high. Finally, if there's excessive electrical noise (like from a VFD nearby), move the VFD away from sensitive components.
