Improperhandling of operating fluidsishaz-

Do not allowoperating fluidstoenter the
sewagesystem, surface waters, ground
water or soil.
Check the vehicleassembliesfor leaks regu-
larly.Iffluid loss is identified, e.g. by oildrops
on the parking area, have the cause of the
fluid loss rectifiedataqualified specialist
workshop.
Checking the anti-corrosion protec-
tion
!
Road salt is corrosive. Wash the vehicle
more often in winter to remove roadsalt
residue.The roadsaltresiduecan otherwise
damagethe anti-corrosionprotection.
The cab is provided with bodycavity protec-
tion and underbody protection.

Check the vehicleregularlyfor corrosion
damage, particularly the compressed-air and
hydraulic lines.

Have any damagetothe factory-installed
anti-corrosionprotectionrectifiedataquali-
fiedspecialist workshop.

To ensure sufficient anti-corrosionprotec-
tion, as aprecautionary measure spray the
underside of the vehiclewithawax-based
protectiveagent according to SheetNo.
385.1 of the Mercedes-Benz Specifications
for Service Products.

Avoidcontactwithskin, eyes or clothing.Do
not inhale gases released from the battery.
Whencarrying outmaintenance work on the
battery,wearacid-resistant protectivecloth-
ing, particularly protectiveeyewear,protec-
tive glovesand an apron. Do not lean over
the battery.Keepthe batteries outofthe
reach of children.
If youcome into contactwithbattery acid,
observe the following:

immediately rinsebattery acidoff skin
thoroughly with plenty of clean water and
seekimmediate medicalattention.

if youget battery acidinyoureyes, rinse
them thoroughly with plenty of clean
water immediately.Consult adoctorwith-
outdelay.
