It features a user-friendly interface with indicator lights for power, single-cup, double-cup, and steam. The device is designed for ease of use, with clear steps for pre-heating, coffee making, hot water dispensing, and milk frothing.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model No.: CM001
  • Operating Voltage: 120V / 60Hz
  • Power Consumption: 1350W
  • Dimension: 12.28 * 5.47 * 11.97 inches

Usage Features:

Before First Use:

Before using the coffee maker for the first time, it is essential to rinse the coffee maker with warm water. This involves filling the water tank to the "MAX" mark, placing a mug under the brew head, and pressing the power button. The single/double-cup/steam indicator will flash, and the pre-heating process will begin. Once pre-heating is complete, the double-cup button should be pressed to allow water to flow out. This process should be repeated until the water in the container stops pumping.

Pre-Heating:

To ensure optimal coffee flavor, pre-heating the appliance, metal funnel, brewing filter, and cup is recommended. This involves filling the water tank to the "MAX" mark, inserting the metal funnel and brewing filter, and placing a cup on the drip plate. After connecting to a power supply, press the power button. The power indicator will illuminate, and the single/double-cup/steam indicator will flash, indicating pre-heating. Once pre-heating is complete, the single/double-cup/steam indicator will stop flashing.

Making Espresso Coffee:

To make espresso, remove the funnel by turning it counter-clockwise, add ground coffee to the brewing filter using the measuring spoon, and press the ground coffee powder tightly with the measuring spoon. Insert the metal funnel into the appliance, aligning it with the "LOCK" mark, and turn it clockwise to the "CLOSE" position. Place an espresso cup on the drip plate. Select either the "single cup" or "double-cup" button, and the appliance will begin brewing. The brewing will stop automatically when finished.

Making Hot Water:

After pre-heating, turn the knob to the "hot water" position. The hot water will dispense from the steam wand. Once the desired amount of hot water is obtained, turn the knob off. Before making hot water, a cup should be placed under the steam wand.

Frothing Milk/Making Cappuccino:

To prepare cappuccino, ensure the appliance is pre-heated. Press the steam button, and the steam indicator will flash, indicating pre-heating. Once pre-heating is complete, the steam indicator will stop flashing. Prepare espresso first with a container big enough for "MAKE ESPRESSO COFFEE." Fill a jug with about 100 grams of milk for each cappuccino, ensuring the milk is at refrigerator temperature (not hot). The recommended size of the jug is 70±5mm in diameter, with milk increases in volume by 2 times. Insert the steam wand into the milk about two centimeters, then turn the knob to the "steam" position. Steam will come out from the steam outlet. Froth the milk in a wavy moving vessel from up to down. It is crucial to operate carefully as the steam may result in scalding. Once the required purpose is reached, turn the knob off. After frothing, clean the steam outlet with a wet sponge immediately. For a frothy cappuccino, pour the frothed milk into the espresso prepared earlier. Sweeten to taste and, if desired, sprinkle the froth with a little cocoa powder. The steam wand can be used to froth milk singly or make hot beverages like drinking chocolate and water. After making steam, the single-cup or double-cup button should be pressed immediately to brew coffee again. The coffee indicator will flash quickly if the temperature is too high. In this case, reduce the temperature by following the operation as below: turn the knob to "hot water" setting, and then the hot water will dispense. When the temperature goes down, the pump will stop automatically, and the knob should be turned off, then coffee can be brewed again. If hot water is not desired, do not want to brew coffee when the high-temperature warning occurs, press the "Single-cup" or "Double-cup" button again to cancel.

Setting the Dispensing Amount:

  • Dispensing amount of single cup: Hold and press the "Single-cup" button for 3 seconds to enter the mode of setting the dispensing amount. When the "Single-cup" button flashes, the coffee starts to dispense. The "Single-cup indicator" flashes at the same time. When the desired amount is obtained, press the "Single-cup" button again. The coffee stops dispensing. The adjustable dispensing amount of single cup ranges between 25ml and 60ml.
  • Dispensing amount of double-cup: Hold and press the "Double-cup" button for 3 seconds to enter the mode of setting the dispensing amount. Then follow the operation of setting the dispensing amount of single cup. The adjustable dispensing amount of double-cup ranges between 70ml and 110ml.
  • Restore factory setting: Simultaneously hold and press the "Single-cup" and "Double-cup" buttons for 3 seconds to recover the factory setting of dispensing amount.

Automatically Power-Off Function:

  • If there is no operation within 29 minutes, the unit will power off automatically.
  • After pressing the power button, if there is no operation after pumping about 215ml water, the pump will stop automatically.
  • After pressing the power button, if there is no operation after pumping for 180s during froth milk, the pump will stop automatically.

Maintenance Features:

Clean and Maintenance:

  • After use, allow the coffee maker to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Clean the housing of the coffee maker with a moisture-proof sponge often. Clean the water tank, drip tray, and drip plate regularly, then dry them. Do not clean with alcohol or solvent cleanser. Never immerse the housing in water for cleaning.
  • Detach the metal funnel by turning it clockwise, get rid of coffee residue inside, then clean it with cleanser, but at last, you must rinse with clear water.
  • Clean all the attachments in the water and dry thoroughly.

Cleaning Mineral Deposits:

Regular cleaning of mineral deposits is crucial for maintaining the coffee maker's efficiency and peak flavor of coffee. Descaling warnings will be shown when the appliance has cumulatively worked for 500 cycles. At that time, all indicators will flash for 5 times, meaning that the coffee machine needs to be descaled. The appliance will go back into normal condition once descaling is complete.

  • Fill the water tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the scale of water and descaler is 4:1, the detail refers to the instruction of descaler). Use "household descaler" or citric acid (obtainable from chemist's or drug stores) instead of the descaler (one hundred parts of water and three parts of citric acid).
  • Press the "Double-cup" button once to make coffee and make hot water for about 100ml. Then turn off the appliance and leave the descaling solution in the appliance for 5 minutes.
  • Turn on the appliance and repeat the Step 3 for 3 times.
  • Repeat the steps of 3 for 2 times with tap water in the MAX level (it is not necessary to wait for 5 minutes).
  • After finishing descaling, you need to cancel the descaling warning: Simultaneously hold and press the "Single-cup button", "Double-cup button" and "steam button" for 3 seconds.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting guide for common issues such as water leaks, coffee maker malfunction, acid taste in espresso, coffee maker not working, steam cannot froth, and various indicator blinking patterns. For example, if water leaks from the bottom of the coffee maker, the cause is too much water in the drip tray, and the correction is to clean the drip tray. If the coffee maker is malfunctioning, contact the authorized service facility for repairing. If the steam cannot froth, it could be due to the white indicator not being illuminated, the container being too big or the shape not fitting, or using skimmed milk. The corrections include ensuring the white indicator is illuminated, using high and narrow cups, or using whole milk or half-skimmed milk. For issues like the single-cup indicator and double-cup indicator blinking quickly, it indicates that hot water for 215ml and the knob is not reset, or the knob is not reset after cooling down. The correction is to reset the knob to the off position. If the single-cup indicator or double-cup indicator blinks quickly and the boiler temp is too high, turn the knob to the "steam" position to perform cooling operation. If all indicators are blinking at the same time for 5 times, it indicates a need for descaling. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself if the cause of failure is not found; contact a certified service center.
