What to do if my Friedrich CP10E10 Air Conditioner does not start?
- JJustin FrankJul 28, 2025
If your Friedrich air conditioner isn't starting, ensure it's fully plugged into the outlet. Check your house's fuse or circuit breaker and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if needed. If there was a power failure, turn the mode control to Off, and wait 3 minutes after power is restored before restarting to prevent compressor overload. Also, press the RESET button on the power cord plug; if it doesn't stay engaged, stop using the unit and contact a technician. Ensure nothing is blocking the front of the unit, set the temperature to the coolest setting (60°F), clean the filter every 2 weeks, allow time for the room to cool down initially, check for open furnace floor registers and cold air returns, and ensure the vent is closed. Finally, check if the air conditioner is freezing up.
