How to fix insufficient cooling/heating in my Friedrich SS08M10?
    • L
      Lauren StevensJul 31, 2025
If your Friedrich Air Conditioner doesn't cool or heat the room sufficiently, or cycles on and off too frequently, consider these points: * Check for blockages of the return/discharge air grille. Ensure clear air paths. * Make sure windows and doors are closed. * Adjust the temperature to a cooler or warmer setting. * Clean or remove obstructions from the filter. See Routine Maintenance. * Clean the indoor or outdoor coils. See Routine Maintenance. * Reduce excessive heat or moisture (cooking, showers) in the room by using exhaust fans. * Allow additional time for the air conditioner to cool off a very hot room.

Why does my Friedrich SS08M10 unit not operate?
    • S
      Sierra BrayAug 6, 2025
Your Friedrich Air Conditioner might not be operating due to several reasons: * The unit may be turned off, or the thermostat is satisfied. Turn the unit on and adjust the temperature setting. * The LCDI power cord might be unplugged. Ensure it's plugged into a grounded outlet. See “Electrical Rating Tables” on pg. 6 for the proper receptacle type for your unit. * The LCDI power cord might have tripped. Press and release the RESET button. * The circuit breaker might have tripped, or the fuse has blown. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse. If the problem persists, contact an electrician. * There might be a local power failure. The unit should resume operation once power is restored.

    • A
      amy17Aug 12, 2025
Your Friedrich Air Conditioner may trip the circuit breaker or blow fuses due to: * Other appliances using the same circuit. This unit requires a dedicated circuit. * Use of an extension cord. Do NOT use an extension cord with this air conditioner. * Improperly rated circuit breaker or fuse. Replace with the correct rating. See “Electrical Rating Tables” on pg. 6 for the proper circuit breaker/fuse rating for your unit. If the problem continues, consult a licensed electrician.

What to do if the LCDI power cord trips on my Friedrich SS08M10 Air Conditioner?
    • J
      Joe TownsendAug 18, 2025
If the LCDI power cord trips (reset button pops out) on your Friedrich Air Conditioner, it could be due to disturbances on the power supply or electrical overload, overheating, or cord pinching. Press and release the RESET button to resume normal operation once the problem has been determined and corrected.

Why does my Friedrich Air Conditioner run too much?
    • K
      Karl StevensAug 25, 2025
Your Friedrich Air Conditioner might run excessively due to: * Excessive heat load in the room. If there are heat-producing appliances in use, or if the room is heavily occupied, the unit will run longer. * An improperly sized unit. * Normal operation for higher efficiency air conditioners. Higher efficiency components may cause the unit to run longer, but energy usage will be less compared to older models. * The discharge air temperature of your new air conditioner may not seem as cold as you may be accustomed to from older units. The energy efficiency ratio (EER) and cooling capacity rating (Btu/h) listed on the unit’s rating plate are both agency certified.
