Overview

The Frizzlife SP99 is a 3-stage under-sink water filtration system designed to provide clean, filtered water for household use. It is certified by IAPMO R&T according to NSF/ANSI 42 & 53 standards, ensuring material safety, structural integrity, and effective removal of various contaminants.

Function Description:

The Frizzlife SP99 system operates as a point-of-use water filter, installed directly under the kitchen sink to provide filtered cold water through a dedicated faucet. It employs a 3-stage filtration process to remove impurities while retaining essential minerals like Calcium, Potassium, Sodium, and Magnesium. The system is designed to reduce chlorine, lead, particulate matter (Class I, 0.5 to <1µm), cysts, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). It is specifically for cold water use and should not be used with microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection. The system is not intended for use with water containing more than 10 mg/L nitrate nitrogen or hardness greater than 50 mg/L (3 grains per gallon) without appropriate pretreatment.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: SP99
  • Water Flow Rate: 1.5 GPM (Gallons Per Minute)
  • Max. Working Pressure: 80 psi
  • Min. Working Pressure: 20 psi
  • Max. Temperature: 38°C (100.4°F)
  • Min. Temperature: 4°C (39.2°F)
  • Capacity: 1000 gallons
  • Replacement Filter Models: M3001, M3002, M3003
  • Certifications: Certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI 42 & 53 for Material Safety, Structural Integrity, Chlorine, Lead, Particulate Class I, Cyst, and VOC removal.
  • Performance Data:
    • Chlorine Reduction: ≥ 50% (Influent challenge concentration: 2.0 mg/L ± 10%)
    • Particulate, Class I (0.5 to <1µm) Reduction: ≥ 85% (Influent challenge concentration: >10,000 particles/mL)
    • Lead Reduction: 0.010 mg/L (Maximum permissible product water concentration) (Influent challenge concentration: 0.15 ± 10%)
    • Cyst Reduction: 99.95% (Influent challenge concentration: Min. 50,000/L)
    • TTHM (as chloroform) Reduction: 0.080 mg/L (Maximum permissible product water concentration) (Influent challenge concentration: 0.45 ± 20%)

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The system is designed for under-sink installation and includes a water pressure regulator. Installation involves connecting the system to the cold water supply using a 3/8" Tee valve, installing a dedicated water faucet, and connecting the tubing. An installation video is available on YouTube by searching "Frizzlife SP99 installation."
  • Tubing Connection: Tubing connections utilize quick fittings. To connect, pull out the blue clip, push the water tube in until it bottoms out, and then push the blue clip back in to lock. To remove, pull out the blue clip, push in the collet, and then pull out the tubing. Tubing should be cut evenly to prevent leaks.
  • Flushing: Before first use, the filter must be flushed for 10 minutes to ensure optimal performance.
  • Water Quality Measurement: The system is designed to retain essential minerals, so a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter is not an effective way to measure its water quality, as water without TDS is typically produced by reverse osmosis systems.
  • Warranty: The Frizzlife SP99 comes with a two-year limited warranty covering defects in material and workmanship. An extended 150% warranty can be obtained by registering the product via email or QR code. The warranty is void if the system is misused, improperly installed, damaged by freezing or hot water, or if the incoming water temperature exceeds 100°F. Filter cartridges are considered disposable and are not covered by the warranty.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cartridge Replacement: Filter cartridges are replaceable. The process involves shutting off the water supply, twisting off the housing, using a wrench to unscrew the housing body, removing the old cartridge, loading a new one, and screwing the housing back in.
  • Leak Inspection: Regular and continual leak inspection is recommended to ensure proper operation. If leaks occur at threaded connections, plumber's tape should be used.
  • Freezing Protection: The filter must be protected from freezing, as this can cause cracking and water leakage.
  • Storage: The system should not be used outdoors or in direct sunlight.
