Replacement routines Replacing the system board
Ê Lower the system board carefully into the housing.
Ê Adjust the system board. If necessary adjust the position of the system
board with a gentle twisting motion.
Ê First fasten the system board with two screws (1).
Ê Next fasten the system board with three screws (2).
Ê Reconnect the cables to their original connectors (see also the cabling plans
in the Options Guide).
Ê Install the memory modules (for a description see the Options Guide).
Ê Install the processor and the heat sink as described in section “Replacing
the processor” on page 35
Ê Install all controllers in their former slots (for a description see the Options
Guide).
Ê Reinstall the system fan 2 as described in section “Replacing the system
fan 2” on page 29
Ê Install the air duct, close the server, and reconnect the power plug.
Ê Connect all external cables.
Ê If applicable, activate TPM functionality in the system BIOS under
Security > TPM (Security Chip) Setting > Security Chip. For further information,
please refer to the BIOS manual.
V CAUTION!
After installing the new system board, it is necessary to update the BIOS
to ensure proper operation (for a description see the BIOS Manual).
I The PRIMERGY TX100 S1 doesn't have a ChassisID prom, the relevant
data are stored in the BOIS. To identify the system it is necessary to flash
the data after replacing the system board using the ChassisID Prom Tool.
