1) Purpose of operation
By removing the frost that was formed on the surface of the outdoor unit heat eachanger, the defrosting operation
prevents a decline in heat transfer efficiency and realizes an efficient heating operation.
2) About the defrosting operation
(1) Starting condition of the defrosting operation
The defrosting operation starts when all the following conditions are satisfied.
Outdoor unit operation mode is "heating".
Integrated time which any of the compressors is operating has reached 40 minutes or longer.
(3) End condition of the defrosting operation
When any of the following conditions is satisfied, defrosting operation ends.
When compressor(s) starts to operation from "all compressors stopped" state, and has operated continuously for
more than 6 10 min.
Outdoor unit operation mode was switched to other than "Heating"
20 minutes or longer have elapsed since defrosting operation started.
The temperature of outlet of heat exchangers has become lower than the set temperature for starting a defrosting
operation. (See 2-3-2 for the information on defrost temperature setting.)
3) Others
During the defrosting operation the fans of indoor units stop,
appears on the display of wired and central
DEFROST
remote controller, and appears on the simple remote controller.
The operation indicators (LED) of the indoor units flash slowly.
The defrosting operation can also be performed by setting the forced defrost operation DIP SW 1- 4 from OFF to ON,
and keeping it at ON position for more than10 seconds. To stop the defrosting operation, set the DIP SW1- 4 to OFF.
(2) Defrosting start restrictions
When oil recovery operation is in progress or errors or protections (except for some) were generated, Defrosting
operation will not be performed even if the conditions mentioned above are satisfied.
Integration of compressor operation time after start of defrosting has exceeded 15 minutes.
The error was generated, except for some error conditions.
Each heat exchanger outlet temperature has reached defrosting end heat exchanger temperature 10 or higher.
