This chainsaw is equipped with a chain brake
which stops the chain immediately if the saw
kicks back - provided that the brake device is
working properly. For this reason, the function
of the chain brake must be checked before
starting work. To do this, let the chainsaw run
at full throttle for 1-2 seconds, then press the
chain brake forward against the hand guard.
The chain must now stop immediately at
maximum engine speed. If the chain stops
only hesitantly or not at all, replace the brake
band and clutch drum before use.
It is of the utmost importance that the chain

always be kept sharp in order to provide the
highest possible security against kickback.
Removal of the safety devices, insufficient
maintenance or improper replacement of the
guide bar or chain pose an increased safety
risk, which can lead to serious injury from
kickback.
