Secondary Alarm (COBE 2991s With LED Program Board Only)
All COBE 2991s with an LED program board have a secondary audible alarm. The
secondary audible alarm is integrated into the LED program board and produces a
softer, steady tone (as opposed to the primary audible alarm, which produces a
louder, intermittent tone). The secondary audible alarm sounds only during the
following conditions:
• Program board-generated alarms (HELP1 and HELP2). See “LED Program
Board Help Messages” on page 4-7.
• A programmed CALL stop and other programmed conditions that cause the
HOLD light to illuminate. See
“Programming a Hold” on page 4-5.
The secondary audible alarm cannot be silenced with the AUDIBLE ALARM
switch found on the secondary control panel.
RED CELL OVERRIDE (in Seconds)
The RED CELL OVERRIDE (RCO) timer is active only during processing in the
Automatic mode. RCO is the delay interval between the time that RBCs are
detected by the RCD and the time the Supernatant-Out operation is halted. The
RCO option is used to discard a volume of unwanted RBCs following cell detection
based on the SUPER OUT RATE and RCO timer setting.
Values from 1.5 to 7.0 seconds can be selected in 0.5-second increments. At a
SUPER OUT RATE of 450 mL/min, 7.5 mL of extra fluid and cells are removed
per second of RED CELL OVERIDE delay.
To program red cell override with the LED program board, see
“R.C.O.” on page 4-3. To program red cell override with the pin-diode program
board, see “RCO” on page 5-4.
