TR-HT2xx LED Controller - User Manual
Mount the TR-HTsuch that there is a free flow of air around it. Under
certain conditions, the TR-HTrequires additional heatsinking in order to
prevent overheating, as follows:
Both channels operating: If the ambient temperature rises to 30°C or
above, the TR-HTmust be bolted to a metal structure that absorbs
sufficient heat to keep the internal temperature reported by the TR-HT to
65°C. (See the Main web page on Ethernet models, or check for an
Event 130 on RS232 models).
One output channel operating, the other output channel off: No
additional heatsink should be required.
Note:For maximum reliability, it is good practice to keep the TR-HTas
cool as possible
If the TR-HTshuts itelf off because of an overtemperature condition, both
output channels turn off, and the unit shows the following display:
An RS232 unit generates Event 130. The outputs remain off until you clear
the TR-HTerror (see Section 12.3.3, General commands), even if the
temperature falls.
5.2 Electrostatic discharge
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage equipment and impair the
electrical circuitry inside your TR-HT. ESD damage occurs when
electronic components are improperly handled and can result in complete
or intermittent failures.
During installation of the TR-HT, take standard ESDprecautions (such as
wearing an anti-static wristband). For full immunity against ESD, the
enclosure of the TR-HT should be electrically connected to the ground
wiring of the overall installation. This may be achieved, for example, by
fixing the TR-HT to an earthed electrical cabinet.
