Original operator’s manual
This product must not be used by children or
by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge. Children must not beallowed to play with
the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not
be carried out by children. We recommend that the
product only be used by young people aged 16 and
over if they have been instructed in the safe use of the
product and understand the hazards involved.

1.1 Symbols on the product

1.2 General safety instructions
￫ Read the operator’s manual carefully before use
and keep for future reference.
1.3 Electrical safety
WARNING!
Electric shock
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
￫ The product must be supplied with
power via a residual-current device (RCD)
with a rated tripping current of no more
than 30 mA. Contact GARDENA Service
if the residual current device (RCD) has
tripped.

Risk of injury from electrical current.
￫ Disconnect the product from the mains
before servicing it or replacing parts. When
doing so, the power outlet must be within
your eld of vision.
1.3.1 Safe operating practices
￫ The water temperature must not exceed 35°C.
￫ The pump must not be used when there are
people in the water.
￫ Contamination of the liquid could be caused by
leaking lubricants.
￫ Keep third parties away from the water.
￫ Only operate the pump with the elbow union


1.3.2 Thermal circuit breaker
In the event of an overload, the pump is switched
o by the integral thermal motor protection.
After the motor has cooled down suciently, the
pump is ready for operation again.
1.4 Additional safety instructions
1.4.1 Intended use
The GARDENA submersible pump is designed
for pumping water in private households and
gardens.
This includes draining in the event of ooding,
pumping around and out of containers and pri-
vate rooms such as cellars, extracting water from
wells, shafts and soakaways, draining boats and
yachts and pumping chlorinated water. It is also
intended for the temporary aeration and circula-
tion of water. It is not intended for watering.
1) Use during ooding
With slowly rising water, it is designed to prevent
ooding and high water. It is not intended for use
as the sole protection device against ooding. It
is not intended to provide protection in the event
of sudden, extreme ooding; see 2.2 Limits of
pumping capacity in the event of extreme oo-
ding.
2) Pumped liquids:
DANGER!
Risk of injury
Do not pump salt water,
corrosive, highly ammable or explosive substan-
ces (for example petrol, paran, nitro-cellulose
thinners), oils, fuel oil or foodstus.
Only water may be pumped with the GARDENA
submersible pump.
The pump is fully submersible (waterproof
encapsulation) and is immersed in the water
(max. immersion depth see 8. TECHNICAL
DATA).
The product is suitable for pumping the following
liquids:
Clear water submersible pump: clean to
slightly contaminated water with a max. grain
diameter of 5 mm.
Dirty water submersible pump: dirty water
with a max. grain diameter of 35 mm.
