3) Operating time
The product is not suitable for continuous pum-
ping operations with a continuously running
motor (continuous circulation operation).
1.4.2 Additional electrical safety instructions:
DANGER!
Risk of cardiac arrest!
This product generates an electromagnetic eld
during operation. This electromagnetic eld may
aect the functionality of active or passive medi-
cal implants (e.g. pacemakers), which may result
in serious injury or death.
→ Consult your doctor and the manufacturer
of your implant before using this product.
1.4.3 Safe handling of cables
1) Extension cable
When using extension cables, they must comply
with the minimum cross-sections in the following
table:
Voltage Cable length Cross-section
220–240 V/50 Hz up to 20 m 1.5 mm
2
220–240 V/50 Hz 20–50 m 2.5 mm

2) Mains plug
WARNING!
Electric shock.
If the mains plug is cut o, moisture can enter the
electrical area via the mains cable and cause a
short circuit.
→ Never cut o the mains plug (e.g. to feed
through a wall). Do not pull the plug out
of the mains socket by the cable, but by
the plug housing. If the mains connection
cable of this product is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer or its after
sales service team or a similarly qualied
person to avoid hazards.
→ Mains plugs and couplings must be protected
from water.
→ Ensure that the electrical connectors are instal-
led in a ood-proof area.
→ Protect the mains plug and mains connection
cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
→ Observe the mains voltage. The information
on the rating plate must match the data on the
power supply.
→ It is essential that the mains plug of the pump is
disconnected before standing in the pool or tou-
ching the water surface. The pump must not be
used when there are people in the water.
→ The mains connection cable must not be used
to attach or transport the pump.
→ A fastening rope must be used to submerge or
pull up and secure the pump.
→ Check the connection cable at regular intervals.
→ Always carry out a visual inspection of the pump
(especially the mains connection cable and
mains plug) before use.
→ A damaged pump must not be used.
→ In the event of damage, always have the pump
checked by GARDENA Service.
→ Assembly instructions: Hand-tighten all screws.
→ Before use after maintenance, make sure that all
parts are screwed tight.
→ When using our pumps with a generator, the
generator manufacturer’s warnings must be
observed.
1.4.4 Personal safety
→ Observe the minimum water level according to
the pump specications.
→ Do not allow the pump to run for longer
than 10 minutes against the closed pressure
side.
→ Sand and other abrasive materials cause faster
wear and reduced pump performance.
→ The hose must not be disconnected during
operation.
→ Allow the pump to cool down before rectifying
faults.

2.2 Limits of pumping capacity in the event of
extreme ooding
Please note that the use of GARDENA submersible
pumps in the event of severe ooding does not repla-
ce the use of specialised ood protection measures.
In the event of extreme and sudden ooding or high
water levels, the amount of water entering the system
may exceed the pumping capacity. In such cases, the
pump cannot pump out the incoming water quickly
enough to prevent ooding. This applies in particular
to situations in which large volumes of water enter cel-
lars or living areas in a short period of time.
→ If there are ood warnings or there is a risk of high
water levels, seek expert advice and take further
measures to protect your property if necessary.
→ Make sure that the pump is not blocked by oating
debris.
→ Check regularly that the power supply is secure.
