Function Description:
The Garrison Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner/Heat Pump is designed to provide both cooling and heating for a room. It operates as an air conditioner in cooling mode and as a heat pump in heating mode, with an option for electric strip heat. The unit can be controlled via a local control panel or, for some models, a remote control or a wired wall thermostat. It features various modes of operation (COOL, HEAT, FAN) and allows for adjustment of fan speed (HIGH, MED, LOW) and setpoint temperature. The unit is designed to operate within specific outdoor and indoor temperature ranges for optimal performance.

- Compressor Restart Delay: A minimum of three minutes to equalize refrigerant pressures and optimize cycling, extending compressor life.
- Automatic Evaporator Freeze Protection: Turns off the compressor and turns on the indoor fan if evaporator temperature is too low, preventing freezing.
- Automatic Quick Warm-Up (Heat Pump Models Only): If room temperature falls 4.5°C/8°F below the set point, reverse cycle heat is shut off and electric strip heat is activated until the set point is reached.
- High Temperature Protection: Switches off the compressor and/or electric heater to prevent damage from high indoor blow air temperature or error indoor temperature sensor.

- Control Panel Operation: Features touch-pad buttons for MODE, FAN, POWER, SETPOINT UP, and SETPOINT DOWN, with corresponding LED indicators for status (HIGH, MED, LOW fan speed; FAN, COOL, HEAT modes; ON/OFF power status).
- Memory Function: Retains all control settings (mode, fan speed, on/off, configuration) in case of power loss, resuming operation with saved settings when power is restored.

- DIP Switches Configuration by Panel Control (Optional): For some models, DIP switch settings can be accessed and adjusted via the control panel by pressing the UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- Vent Control Lever: Allows opening or closing the vent door to circulate only indoor air (CLOSE) or draw in outdoor air (OPEN). Opening the vent door reduces heating or cooling efficiency.
- Error Codes: Displays codes like AS (Room temperature sensor error), ES (Evaporator temperature sensor error), CS (Condenser temperature sensor error), OS (Outside temperature sensor error), HS (Exhaust temperature sensor error), LE (Wire controller error) to indicate issues. LO (Room temperature lower than 0°C/32°F), HI (Room temperature higher than 37°C/99°F), FP (Low temp. Protection) are also displayed.
Maintenance Features:
- Air Filter Cleaning: Filters should be securely inserted and cleaned once every two weeks. Operating without filters or with damaged filters can reduce efficiency and damage the unit. To clean, vacuum off heavy soil and run water through the filter, then dry thoroughly.
- Front Panel and Case Cleaning: Turn off the unit and disconnect power. Clean with water and a mild detergent; avoid bleach, abrasives, or high-pressure sprays.
- Outdoor Coil Cleaning: Check regularly for dirt buildup. If clogged, the coil should be professionally cleaned.
- Vent Door Filter Cleaning: If the vent door is open, the vent filter should be cleaned twice a year or as required. This involves removing the unit from the wall sleeve, opening the vent door, removing screws, and detaching the vent door and filter for cleaning.
- Evaporator Cleaning: The evaporator should be professionally cleaned once every three months to ensure proper function of the electric heating feature.
- Troubleshooting Guide: Provides solutions for common problems such as the unit not starting, not cooling/heating, strange display characters, noises, and water dripping.
- Drain Kit (Optional): For installations where condensation drainage could be problematic, an accessory drain kit should be installed and connected to a drain system.
