Why is my Gastroback 42636 Coffee Maker espresso only dripping?
    • J
      Jamie RochaSep 13, 2025
If the espresso only drips from the portafilter spouts with restricted flow, it could be due to several reasons: * The coffee is ground too finely: Use a slightly coarser grind. * Too much coffee in the filter basket: Lower the dose of coffee. * Coffee tamped too firmly: Tamp between 15-20kgs of pressure. * The Dual Wall filter basket may be blocked: Use the fine pin on the cleaning tool to clear the outlet hole on the underside of the filter basket.

    • V
      vhendersonAug 25, 2025
If water isn't flowing from the group head of your Gastroback Coffee Maker, several issues could be the cause. First, the machine may not have reached its operating temperature yet; allow it time to heat up until the POWER light stops flashing. Alternatively, the water tank might be empty, so refill it. Lastly, check that the water tank is fully inserted and the latch is locked.

      Andrew JacksonAug 26, 2025
If your Gastroback Coffee Maker isn't producing steam, the steam wand may be blocked. Try using the pin on the cleaning tool to clear any blockages. If the wand remains blocked, remove the tip using the spanner from the cleaning tool and soak it in hot water.

If espresso runs out too quickly from your Gastroback Coffee Maker, the coffee may be ground too coarse, so try using a slightly finer grind. Also, you might not be using enough coffee in the filter basket, so increase the dose. Finally, ensure the coffee is tamped firmly enough, aiming for between 15-20kgs of pressure.

Why is there no crema from my Gastroback 42636?
    • J
      James MillerSep 6, 2025
If your Gastroback Coffee Maker produces no crema, it could be due to a couple of reasons. The coffee beans might be stale, so try buying freshly roasted coffee with a “roasted on” date. Also, if you're using single wall filter baskets with pre-ground coffee, make sure to use dual wall filter baskets instead.
