Why is my Gastroback 42636 Coffee Maker espresso only dripping?
    • J
      Jamie RochaSep 13, 2025
If the espresso only drips from the portafilter spouts with restricted flow, it could be due to several reasons: * The coffee is ground too finely: Use a slightly coarser grind. * Too much coffee in the filter basket: Lower the dose of coffee. * Coffee tamped too firmly: Tamp between 15-20kgs of pressure. * The Dual Wall filter basket may be blocked: Use the fine pin on the cleaning tool to clear the outlet hole on the underside of the filter basket.

How to fix coffee not being hot enough in my Gastroback Coffee Maker?
    • K
      Kenneth HarrisSep 15, 2025
If your coffee isn't hot enough, it could be due to a few reasons: * Cups not preheated: Rinse cups under the hot water outlet and place them on the cup warming tray. * Milk not hot enough (if making a cappuccino or latte, etc.): Heat milk until the base of the jug becomes hot to the touch. * Coffee beans are stale: Buy freshly roasted coffee with a 'roasted on' date.

Why is my Gastroback 42636 Coffee Maker espresso running out too quickly?
    • N
      Nicholas MillerSep 13, 2025
If espresso runs out too quickly and/or the pressure gauge isn't reaching 9 bar, it could be due to: * The coffee being ground too coarse: Use a slightly finer grind. * Not enough coffee in the filter basket: Increase the dose of coffee and use the RAZOR™ dosing tool to trim off excess coffee after tamping. * Coffee not tamped firmly enough: Tamp between 15-20kgs of pressure. * If these suggestions don't help, check the machine by placing an EMPTY Dual Wall filter basket into the portafilter (either 1 CUP or 2 CUP) and pressing the MANUAL button. If the pressure gauge reads over 5 bar, the machine is OK. Ensure the correct dose by using the RAZOR™ dosing tool. If the dose is correct, make the grind finer. If the pressure gauge reads below 5 bar, contact Customer Service.

    • L
      larajessicaAug 27, 2025
If your Gastroback Coffee Maker is not producing crema, it could be due to stale coffee beans. Try buying freshly roasted coffee with a “roasted on” date. Also, if you're using pre-ground coffee, make sure you are using Dual Wall Filter Baskets.

Why is espresso running too fast on my Gastroback Coffee Maker?
    • J
      Julie RobinsonAug 26, 2025
If espresso runs out too quickly from your Gastroback Coffee Maker, and the pressure gauge isn't reaching 9 bar, it could be due to several reasons. The coffee might be ground too coarsely, so try using a slightly finer grind. You may not be using enough coffee in the filter basket, so increase the dose and use the RAZOR™ dosing tool to trim off any excess after tamping. Also, ensure the coffee is tamped firmly enough, applying between 15-20kgs of pressure.
