INSTALLING THE WATER LINE (ICEMAKER &DISPENSER MODELS)
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Recommended copper w(]ter supply kits (]re WX8X2,
W×8×3 or W×8×4, depending on the (]mount of tubing
you need. Approved pl(]stic w(]ter supply lines (]re GE
Sm(]rtConnect TMRefriger(]tor Tubing (W×08×10006,
W×08×10015 (]nd W×08×10025).
When connecting your refriger(]tor to (] GEReverse
Osmosis W(]ter System, the only (]pproved inst(]ll(]tion
iswith (] GE RVKit. For other reverse osmosis w(]ter
systems, follow the m(]nuf(]cturer's recommend(]tions.
If the w(]ter supply to the refriger(]tor is from
(] Reverse Osmosis W(]ter Filtr(]tion System
AND the refriger(]tor (]lso h(]s (] w(]ter filter,
use the refriger(]tor's filter byp(]ss plug. Using
the refriger(]tor's w(]ter filtr(]tion c(]rtridge in
conjunction with the RO filter c(]n result in hollow
ice cubes (]nd slower w(]ter flow from the w(]ter
dispenser.
This w(]ter line inst(]ll(]tion is not w(]rr(]nted by
the refriger(]tor or icem(]ker m(]nuf(]cturer. Follow
these instructions c(]refully to minimize the risk
of e×pensive w(]ter d(]m(]ge.
W(]ter h(]mmer (w(]ter b(]nging in the pipes)in
house plumbing c(]n c(]use d(]m(]ge to refriger(]tor
p(]rts (]nd le(]d to w(]ter le(]k(]ge or flooding. C(]II (]
qu(]lified plumber to correct w(]ter h(]mmer before
inst(]lling the w(]ter supply line to the refriger(]tor.
To prevent burns (]nd product d(]m(]ge, do not hook
up the w(]ter line to the hot w(]ter line.
If you use your refriger(]tor before connecting
the w(]ter line, m(]ke sure the icem(]ker power
switch is in the 0 Ioffl position.
Do not inst(]ll the icem(]ker tubing in (]re(]s where
temper(]tures f(]ll below freezing.
When using (]ny electric(]l device (such (]s (] power
drill) during inst(]ll(]tion, be sure the device is double
insul(]ted or grounded in (] m(]nner to prevent the
h(]z(]rd of electric shock, or is b(]ttery powered.
All inst(]ll(]tions must be in (]ccord(]nce with Ioc(]l
plumbing code requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

, Copper or GE SmartConnect T"Refrigerator
Tubing kit, 1/4" outer di(]meter to connect the
refriger(]tor to the w(]ter supply. If using copper, be
sure both ends of the tubing (]re cut squ(]re.
To determine how much tubing you need:
me(]sure the dist(]nce from the w(]ter v(]lve on
the b(]ck of the refriger(]tor to the w(]ter supply
pipe. Be sure there is sufficient e×tr(] tubing to (]llow
the refriger(]tor to move out from the w(]ll (]fter
inst(]ll(]tion.
