HANDLING
The switchgear units are best handled
by crane.
Remov-
able
lugs
are
provided
on
top of
the indoor
switchgear.
When using a
crane
for lifting, a cable spreader must be
used to obtain a vertical
pull
on the lifting lugs, Recom-
mended lifting method is shown in Figure 1.
If
practical,
the shipping skid should
be left on the
equipment until it is at or near its final location.
If
crane facilities are not available, the equipment
may
be moved into
position
by means of construction rollers
placed
under the
shipping skid. Where overhead clearance
is insufficient, the
shipping skid may be removed
and the
equipment
moved by rollers
placed
under
the
three
channels
under the equipment.
The skid is
bolted
to
the equipment
through the anchor
