of metal-enclosed units of Power
Circuit Breakers and other auxiliary
power
circuit
protec-
tive devices. It may
also be a
part
of a single-ended or
double-ended Load Center
Unit
Substation.

equipment.
All of the switching and
protective
devices, control and
metering devices,
control
fuses
and instrument trans-
formers are mounted in the enclosure. The breaker
positions
are
all
of the drawout type. The breakers
are
provided
with
self
-coupling
primary
and secondary disconnecting
contacts
and
incorporate
positive
and indirect interlocks to insure
proper
operating
sequence. Each of
the individual units,
compartments and devices is described in the following
paragraphs.

The front enclosure
of each
unit
is divided into in-
dividual
compartments. These
compartments either house
a
power
circuit
breaker or are used to mount instruments
and
other
protective
devices and
control
components.

These breakers are supported
within their compartments
by a rollout track which
is
part
of the drawout
mechanism
attached to the
sides of the compartment. See Figure
