How to get rid of suds in my GE Dishwasher tub?
    • D
      Daniel JonesSep 22, 2025
If you see suds in your GE dishwasher tub: * Make sure you are using only automatic dishwasher detergents to avoid sudsing. Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent is approved for use in all GE Appliances dishwashers. To remove suds, open the dishwasher and let them dissipate. Pump out the water by pressing Start and closing the door. Wait 2-3 seconds, then open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Repeat if necessary. * If rinse agent was spilled, always wipe it up immediately.

How to fix GE GBF 412 dishes that don’t dry?
    • C
      Carlos JohnsonAug 27, 2025
If your dishes aren't drying, consider the following: * Ensure the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F (49°C). Select Heated Dry or Dry Boost. Use Wash Temp Boost. * Check the rinse agent dispenser and fill as required. * Leave the door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run for an additional 90 minutes (on some models). Opening the door will cancel this fan extension. * If using the Light cycle, which uses lower water temperature, switch to a different cycle. * Allow cycles to fully complete. See Long cycle times in this TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS section.

Why is detergent left in the dispenser cups of my GE Dishwasher?
    • E
      elizabeth36Sep 23, 2025
If you find detergent left in the dispenser cups of your GE dishwasher, dishes or utensils may be blocking the detergent cup. Reposition the dishes so the water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup. Also, reposition tall utensils or heavy silverware that may be preventing the dispenser cup door from opening.

    • J
      jeremybentonDec 1, 2025
There are several reasons why your dishes and flatware might not be getting clean in your GE dishwasher: * The Ultra-Fine Filter or Fine Filter may be clogged, so you should check the Care and Cleaning section. * The inlet water temperature may be too low. Ensure it's correct, and use Wash Temp Boost if available. To make sure that the water is hot, turn on the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher and let it run until the water temperature stops rising before starting the dishwasher, then turn off the faucet. * Water pressure may be temporarily low. Wait until the pressure is normal before using your dishwasher. * The air gap or disposer could be clogged. Clean the air gap or flush the disposer. * The high drain loop or air gap may not be installed correctly. Refer to the Ins...
