If your GE dishwasher won’t run, check the following: * Fuse is blown or circuit breaker is tripped: Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Remove any other appliances from the circuit. * Power is turned off: Ensure the power to the dishwasher is on, especially if it's controlled by a wall switch. * Control panel is locked: Unlock the control panel. See the Getting started section. * Critical Fault is present: If the Start LED is flashing in a sequence, call for service.

Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE GDP630?
    • A
      Anna HansenNov 22, 2025
There are several reasons why your dishes and flatware might not be getting clean in your GE dishwasher: * The Ultra-Fine Filter assembly or Fine Filter may be clogged. Refer to the Care and Cleaning section for instructions. * The inlet water temperature might be too low. Ensure the inlet water temperature is correct by running the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until the water temperature stops rising before starting the dishwasher. Select Wash Temp Boost/High if available. * The water pressure may be temporarily low. Wait until the pressure is normal before using your dishwasher. Normal water pressure should be 20-120 psi. * The air gap or disposer could be clogged. Clean the air gap or flush the disposer. * The high drain loop or air gap may not be installed correct...

Why don't dishes dry in my GE Dishwasher?
    • D
      Daniel KingNov 23, 2025
Several factors can cause dishes to not dry properly in your GE dishwasher: * Low inlet water temperature: Ensure the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F. You can also select Heated Dry or Dry Boost Normal/High and Wash Temp Boost/High. Selecting a higher cycle, such as Steam Sani or Heavy/Heavy Duty, may also help. * Empty rinse agent dispenser: Check the rinse agent dispenser and fill as needed. * Additional drying time needed: Leave the door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run for an additional 90 minutes (on some models). Opening the door will cancel this fan extension. * Cycle selection: If using a Light/1 Hour/Time Saver cycle, which uses lower water temperature and thus limited dry performance, switch to a different cycle. * Cycle completion...

Why are there suds in the tub of my GE GDP630 Dishwasher?
    • S
      Sarah RussellSep 13, 2025
Suds in the tub of your GE dishwasher can be caused by: * Using the wrong detergent: Use only high-quality automatic dishwasher detergents to avoid sudsing. Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent have been approved for use in all GE Appliances dishwashers. To remove suds from the tub, open the dishwasher and let suds dissipate. Pump out water by pressing Start and close the door. Wait 30 seconds. Open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Repeat if necessary. * Spilled rinse agent: Always wipe up rinse agent spills immediately.

Why does my GE GDP630 Dishwasher have long cycle times?
    • A
      Amanda WestSep 14, 2025
Long cycle times on your GE dishwasher can be attributed to: * Alternating spray arms: The dishwasher washes by alternating between the mid and lower spray arms, which can extend the cycle. Longer cycles are normal. For best wash and dry performance, let the cycle complete. * Soil level: On some models, the turbidity sensor detects the amount of soil on the dishes. Heavily soiled dish loads will add more time to the cycle, which is normal. For best wash and dry performance, allow the cycle to complete.

What to do if there is cloudiness on glassware in my GE Dishwasher?
    • J
      James CarrilloSep 7, 2025
Cloudiness on glassware can be due to a few reasons: * A combination of soft water and too much detergent can cause etching, which is permanent. To prevent this, use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle that will get it clean. * Low-performing phosphate-free detergent. See A white film on glassware, dishware, and the interior in this TROUBLESHOOTING section. * Water temperature entering the dishwasher exceeding 150°F (66°C). Lower the water heater temperature.

What to do if my GE Dishwasher control panel responded to inputs but dishwasher never filled with water?
    • A
      Austin JonesSep 3, 2025
If the control panel responds but the dishwasher doesn't fill with water, make sure the door is firmly closed and that the water valve (usually located under the sink) is turned on.
