Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE Dishwasher?
    • A
      Ashley MillsNov 25, 2025
If your dishes and flatware aren't getting clean in your GE Dishwasher, several factors could be at play. The Ultra-Fine Filter assembly or Fine Filter might be clogged; consult the Care and Cleaning section for guidance. Ensure your inlet water temperature is correct by running the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until the temperature stops rising before starting the dishwasher. Low water pressure could also be the culprit, so check if water is coming out of your faucet more slowly than usual and wait until the pressure is normal (20-120 psi). Other potential issues include a clogged air gap or disposer (clean them), improper rack loading (ensure large dishware isn't blocking the detergent dispenser or wash arms), or a poor-performing detergent (try a highly rated detergent such a...

Why don't my dishes dry in GE Dishwasher?
    • B
      Brandon TaylorAug 25, 2025
Several factors can affect drying performance. Ensure the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F. Select Heated Dry or Dry Boost, and consider using Wash Temp Boost or a higher cycle like Steam Sani or Heavy. Check and fill the rinse agent dispenser if it's empty. On some models, leaving the door closed after the Clean light appears allows the fan to run for an additional 90 minutes. Also, if you are using a Light cycle, switch to a different cycle.

Why is my GE GDP615 control panel responding to inputs but the dishwasher never filled with water?
    • J
      Joshua MosleySep 13, 2025
Make sure the door is firmly closed. Ensure the water valve (usually located under the sink) is turned on. The flood float may be stuck. Remove the Ultra-Fine Filter assembly and lightly tap the piece under the ultra fine filter assembly that looks like a dome. Replace the filter.

Why do the control panel lights go off when I'm setting controls on my GE GDP615?
    • H
      heathjennaSep 22, 2025
If the control panel lights go off, it means there was too much time between touching the selected buttons. Each pad must be touched within 30 seconds of the others. To relight the panel, touch any pad again or open the door and unlock it (top control models).

    • S

If you notice black or gray marks on dishes in your GE Dishwasher, it's likely due to aluminum utensils rubbing against the dishes. Remove the marks with a mild, abrasive cleaner.

What noises are considered normal for a GE GDP615 Dishwasher?
    • C
      Cody HarrisSep 23, 2025
Normal operating sounds include beeping at the end of the cycle (on some models), the detergent cup opening, water entering the dishwasher, the motor stopping and starting at various times, the spray arms starting and stopping, drain pump sounds during pump out, and the drain pump starting and stopping several times during each drain. These are all normal; no action is required. Rattling dishes can occur if they are not properly loaded; see the Loading section. Rattling silverware against the door during wash can be avoided by placing tall utensils in the upper rack.

How to get rid of suds in my GE GDP615 Dishwasher?
    • R
      Ruben GreenSep 15, 2025
If you see suds in the tub of your GE Dishwasher, it's likely due to using the wrong detergent. Use only automatic dishwasher detergents to avoid sudsing; Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent is approved for use in all GE Appliances dishwashers. To remove suds, open the dishwasher and let them dissipate. Pump out the water by pressing Start and closing the door, wait 30 seconds, then open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Repeat if necessary. Also, spilled rinse agent can cause suds, so always wipe up spills immediately.

What to do if my GE GDP615 won’t run?
    • N
      Nicholas AguirreAug 27, 2025
If your GE Dishwasher won’t run, there are a few things to check. First, see if a fuse is blown or a circuit breaker is tripped; replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker and remove any other appliances from the circuit. Also, in some installations, the power to the dishwasher is provided through a wall switch; make sure it is on. Finally, the control panel might be locked; unlock the control panel, see the Getting started section.

What does it mean when the start status indicator light is flashing on my GE GDP615?
    • S
      Shaun GuerreroSep 12, 2025
The flashing light indicates that the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. Press the Start pad once and close the door within 4 seconds to start the dishwasher. If you want to cancel the cycle, press the Start pad a second time while the dishwasher is running.
