What to do if my GE GDT645S Dishwasher control panel lights go off?
    • H
      hurleykylieSep 12, 2025
If the control panel lights go off while you're setting controls, it means there was too much time between touching the selected buttons. Each pad must be touched within 30 seconds of the others. To relight, touch any pad again or open the door and unlock (top control).

Why won't my GE GDT645S dishes dry?
    • R
      Richard MarshAug 26, 2025
If your dishes aren’t drying, consider these factors: * Low inlet water temperature: Ensure it is at least 120°F. Select Heated Dry or Dry Boost. Use Wash Temp Boost. Select a higher cycle, such as Steam Sani or Heavy. * Empty rinse agent dispenser: Check and fill as needed. * Additional drying time needed: Leave the door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run an additional 90 minutes (on some models). Opening the door cancels this extension. * Cycle selection: Avoid using the Light cycle, which uses lower water temperature and thus limited dry performance. * Cycle completion: Allow cycles to fully complete. See Long cycle times in this Troubleshooting Tips section.

Why is water standing in the bottom of my GE Dishwasher tub?
    • J
      Jose GallegosAug 27, 2025
Water standing in the bottom of the tub can be caused by: * A clogged air gap: Clean the air gap. See the Care and Cleaning section. * Improper installation: High drain loop or air gap not installed. Refer to the Installation Instructions for proper drain line installation.

Why won’t water pump out of my GE GDT645S Dishwasher tub?
    • A
      Allison HardingAug 28, 2025
If water won’t pump out of the tub, the drain might be clogged. If you have an air gap, clean it. See the Care and Cleaning section. If the dishwasher drains into a disposer, run the disposer to clear it. Check to see if your kitchen sink is draining well. If not, you may need a plumber.

Why does my GE GDT645S Dishwasher beep once every minute?
    • J
      Jennifer FaulknerAug 29, 2025
The beeping is a reminder that the dishwasher door has been left open during operation. Press Start and close the door.

What to do if my GE GDT645S Dishwasher control panel responded to inputs but dishwasher never filled with water?
    • T
      Timothy SandersAug 30, 2025
If the control panel responds but the dishwasher doesn't fill with water: * Ensure the door is firmly closed. * Check that the water valve (usually under the sink) is turned on. * The flood float may be stuck. Remove the Ultra-Fine filter and lightly tap the piece under it that looks like a dome. Replace the filter.

Why doesn't the Sanitized light illuminate at the end of the cycle on my GE Dishwasher?
    • A
      annhillSep 23, 2025
The Sanitized light may not illuminate if: * The door was opened and the cycle was interrupted during the final rinse. Do not interrupt the cycle by opening the door during the wash cycle. * The incoming water temperature was too low. Raise the water heater temperature to between 120°F and 150°F.

Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE GDT645S Dishwasher?
    • R
      Raymond HopkinsNov 21, 2025
There are several reasons why your dishes and flatware might not be getting clean. Check these potential causes: * The Ultra-Fine Filter or Fine Filter might be clogged. * The inlet water temperature might be too low. Ensure it's correct, and run the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until the temperature stops rising before starting the dishwasher. Consider selecting Wash Temp Boost if available. * Water pressure might be temporarily low. Wait until the pressure is normal before using your dishwasher. Normal water pressure should be 20-120 psi. * The air gap or disposer might be clogged. Clean them. * The high drain loop or air gap might not be installed correctly. Refer to the Installation Instructions. * Improper rack loading could be blocking the detergent dispenser ...

What causes detergent to be left in dispenser cups of my GE Dishwasher?
    • A
      Amy MendozaSep 12, 2025
If detergent is left in the dispenser cups, it may be because dishes are blocking the detergent cup. Reposition the dishes so the water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup. Also, reposition any dishware that may be keeping the dispenser cup door from opening. See the Loading section.

How to stop suds in my GE GDT645S tub?
    • J
      Joseph RichardsonSep 8, 2025
Suds in the tub can be caused by: * Using the wrong detergent: Use only automatic dishwasher detergents. Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent is approved for use in all GE Appliances dishwashers. To remove suds, open the dishwasher and let them dissipate. Pump out water by pressing Start and closing the door. Wait 30 seconds. Open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Repeat if necessary. * Spilled rinse agent: Always wipe up rinse agent spills immediately.
