What to do if my GE JXPROBE1 Kitchen Appliances cooktop turns off while cooking?

      Alison AllenJul 29, 2025
If your GE Kitchen Appliances cooktop turns off while cooking, it might be due to a low water level. To solve this, either cover the cookware with aluminum foil to reduce evaporation, or add water regularly to keep the probe tip submerged. Another reason might be a loss of communication between the probe and the range. Make sure the probe is charged.

Your GE Kitchen Appliances cooktop might not enter Precision Cooking Mode if you are using the wrong cooktop element. Ensure you are using the left rear induction element. Also, check that both the cooktop and the probe are turned on and have power.
